  1. I know I'm excited about this, and pledged $10 toward it. I can't believe how quickly money is coming in - after just over one day of it being up, it's over two-thirds funded .
  2. My last co-op job was as a Computer Science Teaching Assistant at the University of Waterloo. There were about four offices, each with six or seven TAs each, and three or four of us were bronies. In one of the offices one of the tutors put up a couple of MLP pictures, one that said "Erik's coat rack" and the other was a picture of Fluttershy yelling "You're going to love me!" These were up for the whole semester, but weren't noticeable from the hallway. However, toward the end of the semester, we decided to put this picture up on one of the doorways to scare students walking past: Other than that, I haven't really run into ponies in public, but I've just ordered a couple of MLP shirts, so a lot of other people will be seeing ponies in public soon.
  3. This picture from the show cracks me up whenever I see it. There are so many things you can imagine Celestia saying that would make Twilight cringe like that.
  4. You don't need a credit card to use Paypal, all you need is a bank account. Once you've signed up, there's an option to add your bank account. Transfers from a bank account take a few days, but otherwise are just as good.
  5. It counts if I just take a sentence and add a question mark to it?
  6. If you trust online IQ tests to be even an approximation of your actual IQ, I have a bridge in Ponyville I would like to sell you.
  7. Twilight. Besides being my favorite pony, I think we could have great conversations talking about the similarities and differences between our worlds.
  8. Hello everypony, My name is Dusk Eagle and I am a second-year Computer Science student at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. I think I watched my first episode of My Little Pony just over a couple of months ago, but it wasn't until the beginning of April that I actually became a fan of the show and started watching episodes regularly. I actually watch TV shows quite slowly compared to some people - I almost never watch more than one new episode of a show in a day (unless the episode has a huge cliffhanger ending or is a two-parter). As such, I have only actually watched season 1 of the show so far, but I'll hopefully be starting season 2 tomorrow (which happens to be my birthday). I don't mind that by immersing myself in the community I may pick up fragments from episodes I haven't seen; this often actually gives me something to look forward to (for example, I knew in one of the episodes Pinkie Pie would go insane, and realizing it was about to happen in the episode I was watching made it very exciting). I recently succumbed and bought my first pony merchandise - Fluttershy and Twilight Sparkle brushables. I've styled Fluttershy's hair so far, but I haven't had time lately to style Twilight's. Here's Fluttershy: One of my other major hobbies is a board game from ancient China called Go. I've been a quite active member of a Go forum called Life in 19x19 for some time now, though lately my activity has dropped off as my Go playing has taken a back seat to other things. Anyway, I look forward to enjoying this awesome show with the rest of you awesome people!
  9. From what I understand, there's two types of Twilight toys - ones that include a bangs section that runs perpendicular to the spine, and ones that don't. I've heard Twilight without the bangs section is the hardest of the Mane 6 to model accurately (though it can be done). I would think Fluttershy, Rarity, and Applejack would be the easiest to give show-accurate hair to. Just a couple of days ago I bought my first ponies - a Twilight (without built-in bangs) and a Fluttershy. I'm still working on Twilight's hair, but you can see my completed Fluttershy (though the color is washed out due to lighting): There's a person on deviantArt who has some really good guides to styling pony hair - you should check them out. Here's their Fluttershy tutorial: http://countschlick....orial-279880754
  10. I love this series so much. I just stumbled across it yesterday and I watched it straight through. I really hope the next episode (which appears to be a retelling of the story from Twilight's perspective) comes out soon.
