"Mm love you too Indicus" she says softly before slowly opening her eyes and smiling "Oh, I guess I refused to let go of Sugar Drop, I sure do hope her mother doesn't mind" she says softly, gently stroking the filly's mane and ears as she slept peacefully in the mare's arms.

 

Night vision walks in "I'm sorry, I just wanted to bring in her pajamas and stuffed animals, she hasn't slept this well in a long time, so I just thought I'd let her sleep with you two for the night, see how things go"

Indicus opened his eyes when he heard footsteps approach them. Upon opening his eyes he was greeted by Night Vision and after hearing her apology he took the stuffed animals and the pajamas. "It's no problem Night Vision I'm glad she is sleeping so well. You should get some rest yourself you've had a pretty long day."

Night Vision smiles as she gently lifts the sleepy filly out of Crystal's arms, then helps her change into her pajamas and gives her her plushies "There you go sweetie, you be good for auntie Crystal okay angel, mummy's got a date with a certain Lieutenant" she giggles and nuzzles her filly, who nuzzles her back, before climbing back into the sleeping Changeling's arms and nuzzles into her.

 

Night smiles at Indicus "Here's my numbers if anything happens, but I don't think they will. If she has a bad dream, she needs a mug of strawberry milk and a big snuggle before going back to sleep" she then leans over and kisses Crystal "Thank you so much Crystal, I'll always love you" she whispers, but loud enough for Indicus to hear. She swishes her batpony tail under his nose slightly before giggling and going off to her room to get ready for her date.

In her room, she was getting ready, looking for a dress, unaware that her date Lieutenant Spearhead would be early.

Indicus's muzzle twitched from the sensation of Night Visions tail under his nose.

 

The young lieutenant was walking down the hall to pick up Night Vision for their data. He found Night Vision's room and knocked. "I made it Night, you ready?" Spearhead waited for a reply.

"N-nearly" she stutters before quickly getting into her dress and smiling "come in Lieutenant, I just have to put some makeup and jewelry on" she says "door's unlocked and don't worry about little Sugar, Crystal and Indicus are watching over her for the night" she says with a soft smile

Spearhead opened the door to see Night Vision In her dress currently putting on some makeup and jewlrey. Spearhead shakes his head, "Still can't believe Indicus is working for the crown once again he has been gone a long time, I almost thought you were joking when you said you saw him. Though enough of that I have a beautiful mare to take out to dinner tonight."  Spearhead offered Night his hand.

She blushes but takes it "and Shaded too, he's here as well" she says and kisses his cheek "Lieutenant, a-are you alright with sharing me with Crystal? I get the feeling she could use all the love she can get, and she and little Sugar Drop both adore each other"

Lieutenant Spearhead nodded, "I'm perfectly fine sharing you with Crystal and even Indicus or Shaded, I trust in our love for each other that we won't drift apart because of it." Spearhead gave a sly smile, "Especially Indicus, I know how much you like the hardened warrior type and I know you crushed hard on him early on in your training when we were just friends.

She smiles and kisses him "Thank you darling, it means a lot to me, and I know it'd mean a lot to Crystal and Sugar as well" she says as they walk alongside each other, when they come across a unicorn mare in a cloak and hood, Night waves "Good evening Shade Walker, your mission went well I trust?" she asks

 

The hooded pony simply nods and continues walking

Spearhead gave a nod towards the hooded unicorn then turned his attention to his marefriend, "Shade Walker has always creeped me  out a bit. I know Dusk Flower personally trained her and that Shade even put some of the blame on Indicus for Dusk's death..." Spearhead shook his head, "I really should stop mentally wandering like that I'm here to take you out and I'm just talking all about myself."

 

Spearhead brought Night to a nice Prench restaurant and ordered a bottle of wine to start.

"I understand sweetheart, but you do have to keep her past in memory, she was pretty much an orphan until Luna found her and took her in. While it is true that Dusk Flower did train her, she is her own pony, having been around as long as Indicus and Shaded, having been Luna's most personally trusted adviser and spy since before the war" she tells him with a soft smile and kisses his cheek "She's also the best assassin in the kingdom"

Spearhead poured the wine for the both of them before speaking. "So I've heard, though there have been rumors that Indicus did assassin work after he quit the guard, killing for anypony who paid enough but I don't really believe it. Can't Imagine Indicus killing for money alone." Spearhead went silent for a moment. "Anyway how has you day gone?"

Night smiles, "Well, it was pretty uneventful really, Sugar wanted some sweets so I gave her some bits to go get some ,but apparently a stallion had knocked her over and had made her spill her shake and treats..but Indicus was there to get her a new drink and some new treats. After that, it was basically the same with the exception of finding our little Sugar Drop curled up in the Queen's tail" she giggles and takes a sip of the wine

Spearhead laughed, "Wow that must have been quite adorable, and from the sound of it the Queen and Indicus had no issues with the turn of events. My day was much the same with nothing of note going on, though my patrol partner decided to talk non stop about the roumors and conspiracy theories about the Changeling Queen and Indicus being in one plot or another to take over Equestria."

Night rolls her eyes "He's always been one for conspiracy theories, but you can rest assured, Crystal is one of the most gentlest mare I've ever met, more so than the Princess of Love herself" she says and kisses his cheek "And no they didn't, though I saw Night Wing storming off earlier, so I'm guessing Indicus is here to investigate the reports of extortion by the Royal Guard"

"Like I said I'm never inclined to believe the roumors." Spearhead took a sip of wine.

 

"He is? Well I guess that explains why he is in Canterlot of all places. The princesses must in quite the corner with it if they called him, though with the fact he is independent of the guard it does make sense."

 

A few minutes later a waitress walked up to take their orders. Spearhead ordered the spaghetti and a loaf of prench bread. The waitress waited on Night.

Night smiles "I'd like the Batpony specialty, thank you dear" she says to the waitress before returning her attention to Spearhead "Exactly, with a pony independent of the guard, it is less likely to raise suspicions" she says and kisses his cheek "Speaking of which, have you seen Shade Walker lately? I get she prefers her seclusion, but I'm getting worried"

Spearhead shook his head. "No I haven't really seen her around lately and even less once news of Indicus reached everypony. But your right her seclusion is pretty bad even for her. Though I can't think of much besides seeing if her talking to Indicus would help. She is her own mare like you said before, but she still viewed Dusk Flower as a big role model or even mother figure in her life. With Dusk's death she seemed the most affected short of Indicus. My guess is she either hates Indicus thinking he should have done more, or she just wants to know the full story something he has only told the Princesses, and shaded."

"Luna is more like Shade's mother, but you are right, I just hope a fight doesn't break out between the two of them. If Crystal was around to see it, it'd break her heart" she says softly and closes her eyes as she kisses him lovingly.

 

Meanwhile, the hooded and cloaked unicorn mare walks up to the throne room, she was bout to just walk in, but she smells something "He's here.." she growls

Spearhead returned the kiss and by the time they pulled apart the waitress was their with their food. "One spaghetti platter, Batpony specialty and a loaf of prench bread. Anything else?" Spearhead shook his head.

 

Meanwhile Indicus opened his eyes suddenly before looking around, next to him Crystal slept peacefully. Indicus decided to get up and walk around and hopefully go back to sleep. Still dressed in his light armor he walked the castle halls eventually reaching the throne room where Shade Walker was. Indicus recognized her immediately, "I guess meeting again was to be inevitable." Indicus said dryly

Night smiles and shakes her head as well "I believe that is everything, thank you dear" she says softly before she looks at the cuisine from her homeland and sighs as she breaths in the aroma "Aah, it's been too long since I've had something from home" she says with a smile and begins to eat.

 

Shade looks at him and sighs "Hello brother, I see you've acquired yourself a harem, what, wasn't Dusk enough for you?" she growls but feels a hand on her shoulder and looks up to see Luna "Mother..he's responsibl..."

 

"He is responsible for nothing but for doing what he and his group were tasked to do, they all understood the risk, as did you" Luna says softly yet sternly, "And now he is responsible for finding and caring for your aunt's and my oldest and dearest friend, surely you remember Queen Crystal.."

 

"Q-Queen Crystal Cocoon!? B-but her kind was all wiped out from the changeling genocide enacted by King Sombra!" she exclaims

 

Luna smiles and shakes her head "All but two. Crystal and Shaded, yes the very Shaded who had worked with you, trained you and even loved you at one point"

Indicus sighed, "Everyday I ask myself how I could have prevented those bastards from defiling Dusk Flower while I was forced to watch, what call would have saved everyone.

 

After the failed assault, I quit the guard and done assassin work looking for the bastard and when I found him I killed him cutting off his fingers, then bits of his arms thenoved to the legs and feet. In that moment I thrived from his pain then felt empty when he died.

 

I continued taking contracts, eventually making it to guild leader. Overtime I became more vicious, taking pleasure in killing targets. I took contracts based on what I wanted to kill instead of pay.

 

It took almost killing a family including children for me to wake up and realize what I had become. That was ten years ago over another five I lived in seclusion. A bit over a week ago I was going to go to do mercenary work in the Griffin kingdom.

 

Meeting Crystal is why I'm even here now. So no I did not just forget Dusk Flower. I'm just trying to move on for once in fifteen years, and damn it is a hard thing to do."

 

Indicus took a deep breath. "If you still hate me and hold me responsible sister then so be it. If you want to attempt to kill me then I will not hesitate to defend myself."

Shade simply bows her head "No dear brother, I accept your explanations" she says simply and looks out the window "Troubling times are ahead of us brother. And I don't mean the return of the Queen, I have a feeling she just wants a normal life, with no intention to take back the Empire, but I do sense a darkness in our kingdom." she says, her eyes glowing somewhat with the jewel above her staff.

Indicus was both relieved and happy that his older sister did not dispise him. Something he worried about before. They were not very close but she was the only blood relative he knew was alive. "It seems that this kingdom has been quite the attraction for darkness lately."

Shade just simply nods before lowering her hood "And I thought we had faced our worst when Tyrek escaped and came back for revenge" she says and closes her eyes "I'm happy for you baby brother, to move on from the past and finding new love, especially with a mare as beautiful and kind as Crystal." she says as she continues to gaze out of the window "So, you're here investigating the extortion reports? best of luck"
