Army Truck 2 October 15, 2016 Share October 15, 2016 I realize that certain themes and story will not go beyond the 12yr old girls level with the ponies. But would a EG series talored to older age group running parallel to ponies really work? Stargate Alantis that ran parallel to last few seasons of SG1. I realize that might not be the best example of what I mean. But a bit more mature but not to much mature with EGs growing up more and story and lore development be worth the effort with few crossovers when certain characters need more cute time or serious time on screen? I thought the 2 Stargate shows were perfect example of 2 shows running parallel with slight theme differences. SG1 was more sci-fi grounded in reality with Alantis being more out there sci-fi. Since the ponies are more geared toward the 6-12 would a EG for different age and Fandom even survive running parallel with original source. cmarston1 5,959 October 15, 2016 Share October 15, 2016 Well if there were to ever be an EQG tv series, I would assume that it would air after FIM ends, in order to allow G4 to stay afloat, without having to continue FIM, after it reaches an ending point. Steve Piranha 29,449 October 15, 2016 Share October 15, 2016 It's possible that, in case there's an EG series parallel to FiM, it'll deal with slightly more mature themes. By the time EG was first released, some of the target demographic are now teens, and today it couldn't be more true Sig by Discords
GrimGrimoire 4,973 October 15, 2016 Share October 15, 2016 Well yeah it is possible one could run parallel to FiM.. take for example if a show were made for Guardians of Harmony for example... it could deal with a more mature theme and run alongside it's parent show. It might though not be taken so well by many since you could make an argument it would possibly create a split in the market or some such... most likely they would start one after the other ended. Giving it some thought I think we may see a rebranding of the series after the movie ends... not an actual end, but a change to its format to some degree. So I don't think we will see any secondary shows for the time being, but anything is possible. ~No profound statement needed~
