cider float 2,539 November 3, 2016 Share November 3, 2016 So I don't know any names of the breeds of cats out there but which cats are prone to purr a lot around their owners?
silvadel 1,393 November 3, 2016 Share November 3, 2016 It varies more on a cat to cat basis than a breed to breed basis. 1 Silvadel, the Pegasus of Insight.
Guest November 3, 2016 Share November 3, 2016 It varies more on a cat to cat basis than a breed to breed basis. This here is good to know. I tried to search for cat breeds that purr a lot but there didn't seem to be any as it very much just depends on the cat itself. Information about cat breeds that are especially talkative are easier to find though. Not sure if that has a relation on purring however.
KiraTakahashi 748 November 3, 2016 Share November 3, 2016 Best thing to do is go to a local shelter or pet store and hang out with a few cats and see which one fits you best. Plus you can easily find one that purrs a lot that way. 1 +My life's it's own cartoon show.+
Ziggy + Angel + Rain 11,303 November 3, 2016 Share November 3, 2016 In my experience, a cat that likes you is more likely to purr around you. 1 "It uses the faculty of what you call imagination. Untitled Goose Q 5,138 November 3, 2016 Share November 3, 2016 Cat staff veteran here, and I can speak from personal experience to say that breed has minimal effect on the amount of purring. Best to go to a rescue center, spend time with cats there, and find one that suits you that way. Also note that some cats might not seem like they purr much, when they may in fact just purr very quietly. LordSwinton 759 November 3, 2016 Share November 3, 2016 My aunt had a pair of cars, same breed, one would purr like a motorcycle and the other was a really quiet furball. Honestly think breed has nothing or little to do with purring Click here to boop that snoot, or here to request boops from Felix!

Ponies4Bronies 394 November 3, 2016 Share November 3, 2016 Just try and make the cat supper happy. My cats weird behavior is she likes to rub her face on my fist(not my open hand she likes my closed fist more for some reason). Just try to find something they like to do. I seem to find that some cats if nice and warm tend to be more likely to be patted and sometimes that can lead to them purring I suppose. Honey Wings, my love, my life, together forever.
