leonbrony17 1,217 November 29, 2016 Share November 29, 2016 Do you think that we as a special fandom in a world full of more "manly" fandoms or more "usually" fandoms have to stay together more than others like star wars or marvel?
Moony the Cat 3,707 November 29, 2016 Share November 29, 2016 (edited) We certainly get more hated or weirdly looked at, than other Fandoms. But in the last 2 Years, i personally never encountered any hate, so i guess it has stopped a little. Since they now seem to hate Fnaf, Undertale and Dc Movies. XD In the past, i would say yes. We kinda had to defend ourselves against all the Spammers and Haters or help those who got depressed because of this. But on the other Hand, a lot of other Fandoms have this Problem to. You have to stay together, doesnt madder what fandom. At least in my Opinion. But i agree, the Fandom i had the worst experience in, was the Brony Fandom. No where else, was i this hated and needed someone to cheer me up. But thankfully it got better and i dont have any Problems now. leonbrony17 1,217 November 29, 2016 Author Share November 29, 2016 Sure all fandom's tend to stick together In their own way but this fandom isn't special Boys who like girl stuff. Actually it's a shock. If public discovers that a boy love little ponies who actually are girl stuff. That's the end of the world for a boy? It's usually if boys or girls like star wars or transformers or marvel and all the other fandoms. The most people in the world don't even know what a brony is. So when public see a boy liking girls stuff they freak out and do bad things. In a world were girls are girls and boys are boys is the BRONYdom even after years still hatred and weird to "normal" boys who like "boys stuff". Kaneki 1,073 November 29, 2016 Share November 29, 2016 Just simply how the fandom is so different from others speaks about how strong it is, so I would say sure.
Foxy Socks 2,603 November 29, 2016 Share November 29, 2016 Not exactly sure what you mean, but even if it is true, sticking together is what makes this fandom great! All fandoms get hate, or have terrible people sometomes. We are no different, but it doesn't make us worse than other fandoms. At least in my opinion. 1 My OC: https://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/foxy-socks-r9861
Ganondorf8 11,715 November 29, 2016 Share November 29, 2016 Our fandom is seen as different from other fandoms given that we have broken the stereotypical gender issue when it comes to children's entertainment and through related subsidies such as toys for example. Those who don't understand what we do tend to look down on us in negative ways prompting us to stick closer together as a group though some choose to fight back in ways that go against what we stand for--even that is debatable now as our purpose has changed over time. GrimGrimoire 4,973 November 29, 2016 Share November 29, 2016 MLP has managed to take an idea that was aimed in one direction and open it up to encompass a lot of different types of people. Several years ago if you had said a product aimed at young girls would amass such a large following, including adult males, a lot of people would have passed out laughing... however it now has a hit cartoon show going for it, multiple comic book series that have been big hits, a well received toyline, a major motion picture on the way, more fan made content than you can watch or read in a week and tons of other assorted pieces of merchandise both official and unofficial. So yeah, MLP has done a lot. That being said, so have other fandoms. Maybe not the same way this one has, or touched so many people in the same ways as this one... but each have their place and have done their own thing. Hell Star Trek inspired a whole generation of astronomers, engineers and scientists... that is just as remarkable in my opinion. So yes, i do think MLP is special, but so is every other fandom to it's individual fans. I don't pay any attention to how "manly" or "girly" something is...if you are a fan, you are a fan, period. 1 ~No profound statement needed~
