Why don't the ponies look for more Changeling hives?

It bears remembering that "safeguarding" the changelings under her authority {has she birthed them all? Are there female changelings? There's a lot of open questions} was something she did in the first place, in this case raising them to be selfish and care only for themselves, apart from her, and that kind of control still broke easily once a different way was shown. But that's not even what you're suggesting in the first place - you would recommend tracking down all possible Changeling hives, whether Chrysalis' or not, and effectively destroying them, implying that this course of action has less to do with Chrysalis, and more about the Changeling species as a whole.

Am I correct in making that assumption so far?

Not even close. For one, there's no evidence suggesting there's more than one Changeling queen maintaining hives in Equestria. If there were multiple hives with newborns being raised by different queens, with their own morals and ideologies, ponies would have already treated them as individuals and not carried any prejudice towards Thorax. I was talking about looking for new hives that Chrysalis may have formed after the Season 6 finale, not hives governed by queens they have no history with.

Second, who's to say Chrysalis won't research dark magic and put her newborns under some spell that robs them of their free will? Starlight demonstrated this perfectly in Every Little Thing She Does. She can make them respond only to her command, completely brushing off Thorax's examples of giving love to others and creating harmony with other species. Quality of life is everything. If people really cared for their well-being, they'd agree that preventing their birth (which is NOT the same as killing them) would be a more "humane" thing to do than letting them live as slaves that can't be saved.

Why kill poor innocent changelings? It's not their fault. :( Also, it's hard to make them not need something they need to survive, so removing their ability to love wouldn't work likely.

Again, there's nothing to kill. Egg yolk isn't alive and it doesn't have feelings. And yes, you can totally make Changelings feel like they don't need sustenance to survive. Twilight made vampire fruit bats disregard apples.

I still don't think needlessly "killing" things would help. Besides, they are completely different from the bats.
