Could collaborating with Pokemon be what MLP needs for Japanese audiences?

Pokemon is huge in Japan, but MLP not so much. It's also no secret that Hasbro has collabed with partners like Disney (MLP Disney princesses), Avon distributions, MC Donald's,and Takara (Japan) so do you guys think that collabing with the makers of Pokemon could be good for getting the Japanese audience interested in My Little Pony?

For instance, to promote the MLP movie, I could see Pokemon offering "Sea balls" at Pokecenters, and is like a VR space that puts you in the underwater world of Seaquestria, where you get to "capture" a seapony and get a keychain or plush or something of the seapony that you captured in the VR space (which could contribute to speculated fan theory that pokeballs contain a mini environment for specific Pokemon).

Thoughts on MLP collabing with Pokemon for the Japanese audience?

Well given how Japan only dubbed the first two seasons of the show, I doubt the country would find it profitable to partner up like that.

It would be more likely for Japan to partner one of their properties or whatever with Equestria Girls, seeing how they actually dubbed all of them.

The Pokémon Company--and to an extent Nintendo--might not see a partnership with Hasbro over MLP seeing as the show just isn't really popular over there. They would prefer to have a deal where they could benefit alongside Hasbro so such a partnership might not benefits TPC and Nintendo. It actually wasn't surprising to see the show not doing well as Japan has anime at their disposal and western based animation can't hold a candle to it over there.
