Spike and Sweetie Belle shippers?

Maybe someone can help me understand how and why this ship exists. Because to my knowledge, Spike hasn't really been involved with the CMC much, let alone Sweetie directly. The only time they're seen doing something together is the 1 second photo taken in A Canterlot Wedding, where they're dancing together, but they're hardly alone. Spike has shown 0% romantic interest in Sweetie Belle, so why?

People will always ship anyone with anyone, even without any kind of canon romantic interest. That and maybe it has something to do with the fact that they're probably in the same age group?

Outside of the whole Canterlot Wedding dance they shared together, there is the whole issue of Rarity being an adult and Spike being a child that makes Sparity seem pretty creepy, so people settled for shipping Spike with her younger sister, because Sweetie Belle actually is around Spike's age.

Pfft, you don't NEED canon interaction to ship. You just have to think it would be an interesting couple.That's why crossover ships exist.

I don't have a problem with SweetieSpike. But it doesn't really interest me either. I'm actually thinking of doing BloomSpike for my NextGen stuff on DeviantArt, but I haven't committed to it.
