Anypony know about Vector art?

I've tried browsing around on Google before, yet none seem to be useful for me, even Adobe Photoshop. When I tried using Adobe Photoshop, it only shows a gray image or it doesn't to anything for me at all. I''ve tried to keep looking for Vector Art to download, to say the least, but sadly, I haven't had any luck on finding it. Does anyone know where to find Vector art to familiarize with it (considering as how most artists use it to draw MLP characters)?

Most tutorials will give you source files.

 

edit: Also, photoshop's main function is hardly vectors. In fact, it's vector tools suck :]

MLP is drawn using Flash which uses vectors, but is made in a different fashion.

The reason you had so much trouble finding a sample is because most websites do not enable SVG support.

It was my bad, your question was more directed at finding a sample, bot understanding vectors. That link gives a general explanation as to what a vector is, but won't teach you how to make them in an program.

Most vector artists wont give you the actual path data but will provide a raster image that is of ridiculous quality.
