After Shadow got done hacking at the dummies and mannequins, he leaned against a users target and allowed the ones he hacked to fall to pieces. He said as he wiped off the sweat, "huh, I see you're feeling better."

She still felt hollowed out but she'd recover in time. "Yea. Don't think I'll do any more magic soon but I feel better." She said to him Firing another arrow at the target spliting the second one she shot. "That's impressive to behold but now I've got to make more arrows. Did Chrysaslis learn her lesson of trying to capture me in your own home?"

Shadow said as he headed back into the house, "Sure." He didn't want to mention that he loosened the chain that Chrysalis can move more around the room. He headed to his bedroom and dropped onto his bed and passed out once his head it the pillow

Maple kept shooting until she had broken a total of 8 of her 20 arrows "Alright guess I'll go get some stuff to make more with now." She flew to the guest room of Shadow's home and went to her stuff. She had received another letter from Luna. She read it and then wrote a letter and sent it to her. She went out to that target, got her arrowheads and a few sticks to make arrows with and began shaping the sticks into shafts for the arrows leaving notches for the feathers.

Shadow rolled around on his bed, dreaming about nis life when he was young and before the accident. He screamed as he rolled off the bed. He sighed as he held his legs. It was something that he wanted to forget.

Maple ran in when he screamed. "Changelings?" She looked around and realized the room was empty minus Shadow and herself "What's the matter did chrysalis do something to you? or did you have a bad dream?" She had dropped the arrows she was making and grabbed a spear which she leaned against the wall.

Shadow jumped out of his thoughts and said, "Mostly a bad dream. Just a dream about my  mother." He opened his nightstand, pulled out a dagger, still stained with blood, closed his eye, and remembered the job. Then he said as he got up, "I'm fine now."

Maple nodded she had been separated from her mother a lot. Most of the time because she was sent on missions. Once Fluttershy got kidnapped by chrysalis and she wasn't there to protect her.

"That's ok." She told him "I'm sorry. I bet your mother was a wonderful person. After all she raised you and you're nice despite the outer tough-guy layer."

Shadow headed to the door and muttered, "She wasn't kind and didn't raise me." He opened a portal and went to get something off the list and get his dream out of his head, it was bad enough that he never knew his father, but the fact that his mother hated that fact that his dragon blood shone made it worse.

"Wait I guess I just assumed." She said "She abandoned you? Or was it worse than that? I'm really sorry about that." She now hated whoever his mom is or was given the way she stated it. She ran back over to her bag and looked for something she had to give to him as a sort of apology.

Shadow glanced around the shop, looking for what he needed, then he remembered where he can get it for free. He made another portal and with  a sigh, he stepped through. The place was filled dust, and was abandoned for years. He walked up the stairs to a room and found what he was looking for, then headed home

She didn't seem to have anything to give to shadow but she wanted to give him something. He had done way to much for her He deserved something. She had an idea was about to send it when she realized she didn't know what he'd want. She walked over to where he was "Hey shadow what's some stuff you like?" She asked him

Shadow jumped a bit and hid what he got from the house, he didn't want a lot of question. He said, "I like a lot of stuff, wine, weaponry, artifacts, peace, and a lot of other stuff." He used his shadow to hide his claw and headed to his research room.

"Ok thanks!" Maple wrote something on the letter and sent it to rarity. A few minutes later a package appeared.

She opened saw what was inside, closed the box and gift wrapped it. She walked to shadows room and saw he wasn't there. "Shadow? Where are you?" She yelled

He looked at the broken claw, he got from the house. When he heard Maple asking where he was, he placed the claw on the table and said as he turned around in the chair towards the door, "I'm in the research room."

"Ok, Hold on" She dashed over to where she heard his voice come from "Ok so a while back I said I owed you a lot for how you saved my life and you mentioned you liked artifacts well I felt like you deserved this" She handed him the gift-wrapped package

Shadow was surprise, kept a straight face as he took the package. He said as he used his metal claw to open the wrapping, "thanks, I wasn't really expecting this." He opened it, to find a collar/necklace, or it could be a belt, in the box, he pulled it out to look at it closely

It was a golden necklace that looked like the necklace that contained the Element of kindness.

Maple smiled at him. "They don't use the elements of harmony anymore so I asked mom if she still had her necklace and she did so since you like artifacts I thought You'd want it. Do you like it?"

Shadow smiled as he headed to the artifact room, he placed it on the shelf and as he came back into the research room, "I like it, I guess it will be collecting dust for me as I figure out a new use for it."

Maple was proud of her self she made him smile. "I'm sure you will." She said happily "Need help getting anything off that big old list of yours because helping would be better than just sitting around this house... No offence."

Shadow nodded and said as he shrugged, "next is water from a hit spring near ponyv-." He stop abruptly on what he was saying, then he grabbed a map of Equestria. He turned around and said, "Better yet, let go get something else." He didn't want to take a chance and have her fall into the hot spring

"Hot springs? Sounds fun! Lets go there." She said "or is there another location that's more interesting that you rather go to." She was happy that shadow trusted her this much even though luna didn't trust him at all She trusted him with her life as he had saved it several times.

Shadow said as he looked at the list and tried to figure out the areas, "I'm thinking of doing the hot spring one, since its dangerous, but the rest is just the equivalent of buy the stuff." If the reports he read were true, it might be dangerous for himself as well.

"Wait a hot springs. Dangerous? Are the springs really really hot?" She thought about the different thing that could make it dangerous. It could be a monster or the heat of the springwater It didn't matter she wanted to help out. "I'll have to leave the armor behind then so I can't use the orb."

Shadow shrugged and said as he opened the portal, "Fine, we'll get the water, just be sure not to fall in, you could say that it's evil." He headed to the armory to get a fishing pole with a bottle at the end, then he stepped through to see the sparkling blue hot springs surrounded by trees. He decided to make a wall using the trees.
