After Maple had finished eating she walked over to the sink put some of the dishes in there then started to clean them with her hooves. "Hey you made the food." She said "So I might as well clean the mess for ya." She knew she'd have to wait for shadow to finish though.

Shadow nodded and finished up eating. He placed the bowl in the sink and went to place the bottle of wine in the fridge, then he stopped and decided to drink it. He picked up the book that was on top of the fridge and decided to read it. He said as he sat down at the table,"I was wondering dinner taste a little off to you, besides the meat.

"Kinda." Maple answer after thinking about it for a little bit "why do you ask?" She got a bit concerned why he was asking. He didn't do anything to it did he? Nah he wouldn't knowingly do something like that She thought At least I think.

Shadow took a gulp of wine and said, "No reason, just taste a little off, but it might be nothing to be afraid of." He went back the book and read about it. He wondered why he has this book even though he can't use it.

Maple finished cleaning the dishes. "Whatcha' reading." She said messing with the cloud she created earlier. She put a glass under the cloud and tapped it. Chocolate milk started raining from the cloud once her glass filled she tapped it again and it stopped. She drank the chocolate milk to help wash the meat down.

Shadow placed his claw on the page and said as he flipped it close to read the title, "Mind control and Hypnosis through the ages, and how to do it. I found this book under my bed earlier today." He decided it would be better if he used a glass instead of drinking from the bottle.

"That's a bit suspicious." Maple said "Anything interesting in there." She looked at the cloud she spawned and thought about other stuff Discord was able to do "Say I could probably do some of that magic. I think dad was able to do that kind of magic."

Shadow said as flipped through the pages, "Not much. With the mind control part, it talks about the villains that used it for their own goal, and what they did with it, and with the hypnosis, it talks about the ponies that made a name for themselves as hypnotists. There is a section in the back for beginners to try to be hypnotists." He closed the book and said while stretching it a bit, "From the stories I heard in pubs and campfires. Discord hypnotized the Mane 6, except Twilight, and made them the opposite of what their element was, so you might be able to."

"Well just because I can doesn't mean I should." Maple said getting rid of the cloud "Then again. I'd be nice if I could do that to chrysalis it'd flip her personality and make her nice but I don't know if I can do it." She messed with the orb a bit.

Shadow noticed that and said as he stood up, "If you want to see if you can do it, I might know a pony that might be willing to help." He thought about a few ponies, Trixy, Pinkie, a changeling to see if it works on them, or Twilight might be up to it.

Maple thought about it a bit. "Maybe but I don't think It'd work on a changeling let alone their Queen." She sighed not really knowing what she should do "I'll try it some other time. But that pony who was here earlier... Why was he here?"

Shadow shrugged and said as he poured himself another drink, "Just wanted to talk about some stuff." He didn't really want to go into it since might lead to more problems than it would be to keep it a secret.

"Alright if you say so." She said still wondering what her magical limits where, She thought back to when they where fighting sombra's army and what she was capable of then but then again she did almost die from that. Hmm I guess that I'll have to practice more. She thought

Shadow took a sip and said as he stood up, "I have somewhere to be at the moment, You can come if you want." He left the wine, glass, and book right where they are and picked up his coat and hat. He stepped into the portal and looked up to see a big building standing in front of him. He walked through the crowd and into the building.

Maple threw her cloak on and followed Shadow through the portal. She followed Shadow through the ground and she was glad she got her cloak before she left otherwise there might have been another mass panic "So what are you here for exactly?" Maple asked quietly.

After a few flights of stairs, Shadow whispered once he reached the door, "Underground Bartender." He opened the door to a loud room. Once he stepped in, the music stopped and everyone looked at him. He pulled off his hat and said as he placed it on the rack, "Everyone, just calm down, it's me. Or do I have to string some of you up? The ice broke and the music started up again He walked over to the bar and sat down.

Maple followed him a bit nervously. She'd never been to a party-Esq scenario like this one. She was used to noise and a chaos due to battlefield experience bit nothing could prepare her for being social with other ponys. She hated being so shy around people she always assumed they had nothing in common with them. She was happy that she didn't have to know the password in order to get in.

Shadow made drinks for ponies when they asked for them. He turned to Maple to see that she's nervous. One of the ponies came over to Shadow and said while they got their drink, "Is there something wrong with her?"

Shadow shook his head and said, "No, she probably new to this." The pony nodded and left. Shadow made Maple a drink and said as he placed it down next to her, "What's wrong?"

"I'm sorry." She appologized "It's just normally I only talk with people that I know trust me. And I don't trust anyone here, so how can I say they trust me." She said while messing with the glass Shadow just set down being careful not to spill any.

Shadow smiled and said quiet enough for Maple to hear, "Hey, A lot of these ponies don't let any info out, in other words, you can tell them that you're a captain for Luna and they won't care a bit. I bet my money that a lot of guards come to these around Equestria. You could help me with drinks while getting used to it."

She sighed. "No it's not that." She continued "I've had reasons for not making in friends. But I'll help you with the drinks." She drank the one He made for her and walked over to the other side of the counter. "So what is it you need help with?"

Shadow said as he turned to the wall behind them, "They'll ask for a drink, with or without ice, and you just make their drink. Also, be polite. This might be unofficial, but we still have manners. I'll handle the table." A pony dressed in a guard's armor raised its hoof, signaling that wants a drink. Shadow walked over and got the drink the pony wanted.

Maple took the drink from Shadow "I'll try this out." She took a deep breath At least I know we have something in common. She walked over to the pony and smilled "Hey there." She started "Do you want ice in your drink." She realized something Wait does that make this an Ice breaker...

Shadow sat back and shared a conversation, then he got into a drinking competition, while some of the ponies were chuckling at the one that challenged Shadow. 

The pony said to Maple, "Anyway is fine. I'm guessing your new to being a bartender and to one of these."

Maple didn't put Ice in it and poured the drink setting it down in front of him. "How could you tell?" She said increasingly nervously. "I'm sorry I'm just really shy." She didn't want to look at the pony in general she was so nervous.
