Shadow picked the drink up and said as he looked into it, "Actually, I think it would help me mentally. the shadow said stuff based off some facts I did, and I just can't get them out of my head." He took a gulp and added, "I'm thinking of going to my old home. It might help me out a little."

"Old home? Like the one you where raised in or the one I've already been to?" Maple said attempting to make shade out of her shadow since the sun was beating down on her. "I'll go with you if you'd like make sure you don't get trapped in your own thoughts."

Shadow nodded and finished off his drink, then he said, "The one I grew up in before I ran away." He placed the apple in his pocket, and opened a portal to the house. He stepped outside to see that the streets were empty, then he waited

Maple reluctantly stepped through the portal. She wasn't sure if he wanted her there, But he didn't specify that she wasn't welcome so she came anyways and would leave if Shadow told her to. "So where is it?" She asked him.

Shadow motioned to the rundown building with boarded up windows. He opened the door and walked in. He didn't bother turning on the light since it probably cut off after years of being abandoned. He dusted off the lounger and sat down in it. He said, "Well, this is where I grew up. Well, it wasn't this bad, but years with no one cleaning it would do it."

As Maple looked around she got more sad. she didn't see any sort of happy memories or love in the whole house the only feeling that came from the house to her was hatred and abandonment. "I don't think I like this place." She said. "I'm sorry you where raised here."

Shadow decided to head to his mom's room to put the thought out of his head. He opened the door, his mom was moved years ago, but he could still see it at night. The house dark, his mother confronting him in the dark. Her face going from hatred to fear. then him running out the door, and away from the house.

"Are you alright?" She said "You seem a bit down." She looked around the abandon room feeling bad but focusing on Shadow and mainly his problems "Just tell me I promise I won't tell a soul. You can trust me right?"

Shadow sat down and said, "Yeah, just remember that I was tricked into killing my mother. I haven't told anyone at all, and the one that knew what I did is dead. He sighed, took out the apple, and took a bite out of it, signaling that the matter was closed and he discussed anymore of it

No way She thought in surprise "Who could have possibly... Nevermind it's probably a touchy thing I'll leave you with your thoughts for a few minutes." She walked off. She kept looking around for something, Anything that could be a happy memory but most of it was either taken away or old.

Shadow nodded and found the deed to the house. Even though he didn't live there, and no one wanted to live there, he wasn't going to let anypony tear it down. To him, it was a reminder at what he did when he trusted everyone he came into contact with.

Maple felt sorry for shadow "This is awful." She said out loud with out noticing "How could a mother only have negative interactions with their kid. It's just so... Wrong." She knew now why he had trust issuers, Maple understood his pain since she could trust easily but never forgive.

As Shadow was walking out of the room, he heard what Maple said. He walked in quietly, avoiding all of the creaky floorboards that littered the house, and said as he stood behind Maple, "Cause I was covered in scales and wasn't a complete pony."

Maple jumped when shadow said that. "Sorry didn't notice you sneak up on me. Guess that's the point of sneaking." She said "So your mom was the pony? That means your dad was a dragon. How was he? Was he nice?" She asked assuming the best.

Shadow shrugged and said, "I never met him. It was just my mother to keep me company, and that was it." He walked over to the door and said as he opened it, "I'm feeling better, ready to get out of here?"

Maple waked over too him "Yea." She took one last look at the place and said as she stepped out "Sorry. I probably didn't help at all... And I'm sorry about your past..." She was worried now she had fought many dragons potential any of those could have been shadows father so she began to blame herself for his past.

Shadow said as he opened a portal to his house, "Mom did complain that dad was a coward, and take after him, but I think he was restraining himself by acting like a coward" He stepped through the portal and walked into the home.

"That's quite a relief." Maple said "Not that him being a coward is good it's just I got worried I might have killed him but I never fought a dragon that didn't try to kill me which is why I almost killed you." She was quite sad at that last bit. "Uhh... No hard feelings about that right?"

Shadow waved his claw and said, "It's water under the bridge now, and if I didn't get shot at once in a while, I would be doing my job and becoming a guard. No offense. Anyway, the box made me realize something, we never actually fought. Care for a sparring match, without magic."

Maple rolled her eyes. She was deeply offended, she got shot at a lot while on duty. "No bow either?" She said "Alright I'm down. Where and when?" She was actually kind of exited she'd seen him fight but wasn't sure how strong he was.

Shadow was about to grab the collar, but he stopped, smiled and said as he grabbed a clock instead, "How about in a few minutes, just come to my room when ready." He headed up the stairs to his bedroom, but he didn't enter. He created a portal in the doorway and stepped into the void dimension. It's been years since he used this place. He placed the clock in mid-air and grabbed a bottle that was floating around

Maple Nodded and ran into her room putting the necklace with her other things She had to write another letter to Luna about Shadow's progress

I think Shadow could be more to the army than just not a threat I'm about to test his general power in a battle. If I deem him a worthy enough asset to the army then I definatly want you to recruit him. We would easily win against any army.

She then Walked over to shadow's room and she noticed he wasn't there so she sat down. Waiting on him.

Once shadow cleaned the stuff up, so it's not all floating in the air, he opened a portal in his room for Maple to come to the dimension. A tentacle came out of the portal and grabbed a lamp from under the bed, then it pulled it into the portal. Shadow only let this float in mid-air, so he and Maple had some light.
