A bat's shadow RP (1x1 Rp w/ Maple Bat)

"Alright Then let's get started." Maple said, She had a spear but the tip was blunt so she wouldn't wound Shadow a bit too bad, She held it out"En garde?" She waited for him to do the same back which is how guards accept a dual with each other

Shadow nodded and decided to spar bare-clawed, but he had plastic covering the sharp claws since he didn't have any dull weapons and wanted to see how she fare against close quarters. He said calm but ready, "En garde." He waited for her to make the move.

Initially Maple was waiting for shadow to move first so she could counter-attack. After about 30 seconds Maple moved quickly over to shadow side sticking upwards in order to hit him underneath his wing. Knowing he was going to turn to face him she jumped backwards as soon as her attack connected or missed.

Shadow watched Maple go to his side, then closed his eyes and fell forward so that the spear would hit his wing, then he spun to Maple on his hoof, then he jumped at her going into a light hit into the side, just before the wing rests.

Maple reflected his attack by spinning her spear to knock it away. and stopped spinning it as she lept over him driving the end into his back lightly as she didn't want to break a scale or something landing on the other side of him.

Shadow let the spear slide down his scale as he arched his back. He turned around and lightly swiped at Maple's hoof that was holding the spear, once she landed while keeping the shaft of the spear, between two of his claws.

Maple realized what he was doing and had to go with it. She dropped the spear while moving backwards to avoid getting hit by his claws. After his claws finished their swipe she jumped back at him unarmed landing on his back back again waiting for him to strike again.

Shadow stopped for a moment and thought about how the match was going. Maple used a spear to deflect his attack and jump over, so if he keeps for from going over him, then she would fight. He jumped to the side, dug his claws into the void, and went to sweep her legs.

Maple had noticed his sweeping kick a bit too late she got hit by it, she lost her footing and then crashed into whatever the ground of was. "Oof. That wasn't half bad" she said starting to get up waiting to see if he did anything.

Shadow nodded and said as he relaxed a bit, "you weren't bad as well, I had to think outside my fighting style." He used a little magic to fix the ground where he dug his claws into the ground and pulled it up.

"So I guess we're done then I mean you could have easily killed me after knocking me down I think so I guess you win?" She said a bit condescendingly. "I guess you've been training for a bit longer than I have." She added happily.

Shadow sat down and said as he lit up the void even more, "I'll be in a few brawls that weren't my fault." He grabbed the drink, opened it with his teeth, and took a gulp of it. He placed it down, picked up Maple's spear, and held it out to her.

She took the spear. "Thanks. I'm defiantly more trained in combat with weapons myself which is why I brought the spear." She took the magic blocking collar off and shivered a bit "Guess that you never get used to it?" She laughed a bit

Shadow smiled and said as he checked the clock, "Nope, and don't have it on more than a weak. It's was an hour in here, guess we should get out of here." He opened a portal and stepped out into the hallway. He tossed the book into the void and headed down the stairs.

Maple was about to walk through the portal and a book hit her in the face. She stepped through "Shadow did you throw that. It hit me right in the nose." She walked over to her room in Shadow's house and began to write a letter of recommendation for Shadow to join the guard... That is if he wanted to.

Shadow smiled weakly and said, "Sorry, guess I wasn't paying attention." He walked into the kitchen and grabbed the bottle from the back of the cupboard and placed a drop of it on his tongue. A chill went down his spine.

After finishing her letter maple realized that Luna had sent one back that she hadn't read yet. She opened it and sighed heading to where Shadow was. "Hey I'm gonna head to Canterlot, Recruits need training." She told him.

Shadow shook his head to clear it and said as he placed the bottle in the cupboard, "I'll come, and see how the training for the guards like." He grabbed a bottle of wine and said as he grabbed a bag, "Plus, I have to pick up some Canterlot herbs and Spices."

Maple nodded she assumed he'd want to come. "It'll be rougher than normal since I'm training them." She thought about something for a second "You know ponies always want to have something to look forward too. You could spar with me to show them how strong a guard can become then they'll want to do the training regiments I've got planned out for them. Well I mean it was just an idea you don't have to."

Shadow nodded and said, "Sure, I'll help train the recruits." He stepped outside and decided that he'll fly to Canterlot since it's not far from his home. He tightened his grip on the bottle and the bag, then he took to the air towards Canterlot

Maple followed Shadow, it didn't take them long She went over and asked Luna where the recruits where she lead her to them.

Maple then looked at the bunch 4 different bat ponies and an earth pony. She opened a portal grabbing the magic blocking collar I'll be helpful for him. She thought even though I hate taking it off. "Alright you few follow me please." She started walking "My name is Maple Bat or what you will refer to me as being Captain Maple or Just Maple would be fine. I'm going to give you all a small demonstration of what dedication and practice can help you achieve and for the earth pony I will be disabling my own magical abilities for fairness."

"Captain Maple." The earth pony said "You don't have to do that for me."

"I'm going to it betters the experience" Maple responded "My sparing partner Shadow is half-dragon so don't panic around him alright."

Shadow placed his bag and drink down and said as he showed his claw, "It's a pleasure to meet all of you, and so you don't have to worry about the captain, I'll be using guards that will keep my claws from doing any damage, but bruises will happen with them." He turned to Maple and said, "Ready when you are."

Maple nodded and then turned to the recruits "I'll be using a headless spear so I don't Impale Shadow as well." She started laughing a bit "Watch closely or ya might miss it." She stepped towards Shadow reading her weapon.

Shadow smiled a bit, then he took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and felt through the shadows around the place, and made a circle with his magic, in case something goes flying. He took a step forward and said, "I'll make the first move this time." He ran at her and went for a light tap/hit between the wings.

The night guard captain waited until just a bit before his hit connected then Maple moved to the side to avoid it afterwards pole vaulting herself over shadow and while air born swinging to hit him in the nose.
