Maple waved a hoof at him as he walked off "See ya. Do try get some rest." Maple followed that rabbit after shadow had left since the rabbit reminded her of mom's bunny, Angel. The rabbit lead her into a nearby forest where she realized there was nothing.

After an hour or two of living his past, Shadow got bored of it and woke up. He went over and placed on his armor to get used to it and headed down the stairs to get something to eat. He got in the fridge and took a piece of meat and made a salad with it.

After a while of exploring the forest Maple figured there was nothing here, so she turned to walk home when she was met by a stallion wearing a black cloak.

"So... You Maple?" He asked in a dark tone.

Maple moved her hoof to the bow on her back. "Yea I am who's asking?"

"Have you done anything to irritate anypony?" He responded walking closer to her. "Like I don't know bothering 'em."

"No. It'd be best you leave." She said unslinging her bow from her shoulder, She felt almost threatened by his presence similar to when she first met shadow

"Well somepony paid a good amount for you to be... Well ya know." He said pulling a knife. As he did an arrow hit him in a non-vital area of the chest.

Shadow finished his salad and placed his bowl in the sink. He quickly headed up to his room to get his sword. He grabbed it and placed it on his back, then he headed into the basement to return the books he got for Chrysalis and the book he got for himself. He threw them into a portal that led to the library and headed up the stairs while locking the door to the secret room

Maple removed the arrow, and then dragged the wounded pony a bit into the forest where he'd be safe until he recovered she knelt down next to him and said "Tell who ever wants me dead that he'll have to wait a long time for that."

Shadow stepped through the portal into the bar to get some more drinks and some weak ones like apple cider based. A lot of ponies were surprised to see him as a guard, a lot of them he worked for. Once he was done, he headed home to put them away in the cupboard.

The pony, Before Maple walked out of view threw the knife at her. When she realized it was coming it she reacted she attempted to block it with her armor only for it too hit her front left leg. "Grr... You're luck I'm showing you mercy." She turned away from the pony and walked off.

Shadow finished putting the bottles away and grabbed a bottle and walk outside to stretch his legs. He pulled the sword off his back and use the edge of the blade to pop the lid off then he headed into the nearby woods to look for his stash. As he was asking, he saw Maple. He walked up to her and said right before taking a gulp, "So, out exploring?"

"That rabbit that was in your house..." She started "It reminded me of Angel. You know Fluttershy's pet rabbit. Thought there was an emergency at home." She started walking back to Shadows house "Oh and theres a wounded pony in that forest just leave him there."

Shadow said as he shrugged his shoulder, "I'm not going to ask, just came out here to get a stash of bits." He kicked down an old tree and pulled out bags and bags filled with bits. Once he was done, he made a small wagon that you see fillies pull out of shadows and piled the bags in it and pulled it to the house

Maple was asleep, Even thought the sun was only setting, when Shadow walked in she hadn't got any rest since she had to go give the spirit back to Luna. She had rather pleasant dreams about her with her family. The dream went well for a few hours

Shadow carried the bags into the room next to the guest room and started placing them in there. After an hour or two of putting them in, he counted up the bag, and it came up to almost 20 full bags. He let the wagon disappeared and closed the door. He went outside and flew onto the roof to look at the stars

After about another hour of her in a deep sleep Maple woke abruptly her dream never changed to a nightmare. She walked over to Shadow "So you get called in yet?" She asked tiredly "Bet not since so many ponies work for 'Tia's guard."

Shadow shook his head and said, "No, not really, but I don't mind at the moment." He grabbed the wine bottle and took a gulp of it, then he added, "There are some low-level drinks, including apple cider in the fridge and cupboard if you want some."

Maple yawned "It's too earlier for me to be drinking at the moment." She said stretching. "I'm used to sleeping until noon or so, however today I just woke earlier than normal." She walked over to see if there was anything non alcoholic to drink.

Shadow nodded and placed it down in the dent he made into the roof years ago. He looked at the stars for a little longer until he grew bored, then he headed into his room to get stuff done. He placed the wine bottle on the stand and dug through the void to get the book since he hasn't been called in, he could learn hypnosis without magic.

Maple wasn't exactly sure what she wanted to drink this early. She looked around the fridge and eventually decided on some light cider since she wanted to drink a bit of something with apples in it at least she stepped outside and looked at the sky. "Pretty peaceful in equestria since we caught Chrysalis." She said to no one "Honestly kinda boring."

When Shadow got done with the book, he took it to the study room to put it away. When he got in there, there was a small letter. He placed the book on the shelf and picked up the letter, thinking it was from Celestia, but after reading it, he sighed and tossed it into a drawer and started cleaning up the room

Maple was staring at the sky. Waiting for the sun to come up so that way all problems could become 'Tia and her guards responsibilities. She always like the sun rise. It was the only thing she saw the reminded her of the time she lived in the castle of the two sisters. She was relieved what she's done from that point was for good. Luna's guard has been top of the line under her command.

Shadow got done with the room and grabbed a pocket watch from a drawer and clipped it to his leg, then he headed outside to see Maple. He sat down on the porch and said as he leaned against the door, "So, watching the sunrise even though ya don't like Celestia, hm."

"Yea the shift between the day and the night is always something I've enjoyed." She said "Both sunrise and sunset mean a lot to me. 'Tia however I would respect her if she at least tried to help when there's a crises. All she ever does though is send twilight or her friends to do it." She sighed.

Shadow nodded and said as he gazed at the rising sun, "Maybe Celestia and Luna aren't as strong as they were a thousand years ago. Everyone gets weaker with age." He held the watch in the sun as it swayed back and forth from the momentum

Maple sorta understood what he meant by that. "Aren't they immortal though? Age shouldn't be an issue. It isn't for Discord at least I know 'Tia's busy but if something theatens the whole world then she needs to do something about it." Her glace shifted from the rising sun to the falling moon she watched it descend until it was no longer visible.

Shadow said, "That may be, but maybe she's a little rusty for not having to fight for a thousand years, and from what I picked from others is that her magic is weaker without the element." He didn't want to say anything else against her, in case she was somehow listening. Then a scroll landed on top of his head. He opened it up and read it.

Maple was a bit lost in thought. He made a good point but still Twilight was strong without the element, Heck they had to give up the elements. She eventually saw the letter "Oh what's that? Could 'Tia hear us talking?"
