"Damn!" Raze said, aiming his handgun at the other creature's head. He fired one shot, which hit it and sent it recoiling backward. He paused before firing again, and when the creature recovered from the recoil he shot two more times, blowing its head away completely. He then quickly made his way over to Lory, then noticed her codex watch glowing a bright orange, the EKG readings pulsating somewhat wildly.

"That doesn't look good..." he said, then checked his own watch. It was green, and everything seemed to look normal. He went to his bag and pulled out a first aid med, then slightly gasped when he saw that they only had two bottles left. He shook his head and carefully applied the medicine to Lory's wound.

Breathing heavily, she remained still, waiting for the first aid liquid to perform its function. A few seconds past, she felt the pain slowly fading away, and soon regained composure. She stretched her back. "Fucking hell, this stings." She said. Then, her eyes drifted towards the monster's limp, headless body resting on the floor. Slowly, Lory got back up on her hooves, grasped tightly onto the pipe and slowly walked closer to it. She delivered a vertical swing to the remains, spraying black muck everywhere. "You bitch!" Another one, followed by a final kick to the guts. Her revenge was complete. Panting, she turned back to Raze.

"...My bad."

"Don't worry about it," Raze said to her as he turned around. "Let's just keep moving."

As he walked out of that room, he found a small box of five shotgun shells on the ground which he eagerly took. Then he turned right and found himself in a large generator room. The machine was roaring loudly, so much so that Raze could barely hear the roar of the sludge creature behind him. He turned around and made some distance, equipping his shotgun. He shot the monster's head off, then turned to face another creature coming towards him. He had to reload first, leaving him open.

"I got this one!" Lory said as she jumped in, delivering a well-placed downwards strike to the head of the enemy. Although it wasn't enough to finish it off, it still stopped on its tracks and wobbled around as if absorbing the hit, before ferociously turning around and sprinting towards Lory. Expecting this, she managed to evade the assault by sidestepping.

"Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee." She taunted.

Raze loaded four shells in the shotgun and pumped it, then held it in his left hand as he unholstered the handgun and held it in his right. He quickly aimed at the head of the monster and shot it, which caused it to explode thanks to the previous blow from Lory. He took a deep breath.

"Looks like that's all of them..." he said, holstering the handgun. Ahead of him was a metal door, but he took notice of a metal cabinet behind him. He opened it and found two first aid bottles and a handgun clip with ten bullets, taking both.

"Look around, see if you can find anything," he said to Lory.

"Right, right... Y'know I'm not a big fan of scavenging, right? You always seem to find the cool stuff before I do." Lory complained, taking a stroll around the place for a while. The loud, roaring noise coming from the boilers at the center of the room posed to be rather distracting for her to properly look around the room in search of items. But nevertheless, she was somewhat used to working under loudness: the sound pollution didn't upset her as much as it should. More challenging, she found, was to try and search between the bramble-like black mold that covered the vast majority of the floor and ceiling alike. Like a forest, that substance seemed to become gradually thicker and thicker as the duo went down the route.

Soon enough, the mare reached another door at the opposite end of the room. Attempting to turn the handle, she discovered that it was locked. After a few seconds of thinking, she reached for her pocket and retrieved the key that they had acquired back at the incinerators. She placed it into the keyhole, turned it, and the door unlocked with a click.

"Hey, it's opened." She called out, not having actually pushed it open yet, instead choosing to wait for Raze.

Raze walked forward and slowly pushed the door open. The first thing he saw was a bunch of metal shelves, some of them crooked. A light coming from the other side of the shelves illuminated a small room, and on one of the shelves was a somewhat shiny, red object. Getting a closer look, he saw it was the final dog head they were looking for. As he was about to grab it, another hand from the other side grabbed it first, and Raze quickly retracted his hand and crouched down. It was Nick Goldhoof, alive again after getting his brains blown out. 

"I was gonna be her father..." he said, not noticing Raze or Lory. "We were all supposed to be her family. But now... now she says they will be her family... nonononononono... I will find them... and I will make them suffer... and you, my friend..." He pointed to something hanging on a wall, which Raze recognized as the body of the cop they met. "You will help me..." He then walked out of a door next to the body.

Raze carefully stood up, not sure what to make of what happened. "That was... interesting..."

"What...?" Lory tried to grasp the situation. "...Was he talking about us?" She asked, bewildered. "And now this family talk again. What the hell?? I ain't gonna be no goddamn demon's family! I pass." She got back up on her hooves, having crouched behind the metal shelves earlier as to evade Nick's line of sight.

"The old fart seemed reeeeeally upset... Might be because of all those times we knocked him out cold... Fuck." She sighed. "Let's pray he dropped the puppy head somewhere."

Raze shrugged, then started to move heading down a flight of stairs on his left, leading to a long hallway on his right which stopped at a huge pair of metal doors. He pushed them open and observed the room around him.

The first thing that caught his attention was the giant cage in the middle of the room. It was open at the top, and inside of it, he saw giant sacks hung on meat hooks. He already knew what was inside, but didn't want to think about it. To the right of the cage were some stairs leading up. He tried the door on the cage first. Locked. He then made his way up the stairs and found a door to his right. He opened it and realized it led to the room where they saw Nick. 

He looked behind him. Sure enough, the cop's body was there. Raze sighed.

"Sorry bud," he said. He then looked around the room for anything useful. He found two more shotgun shells on a table. 

Raze walked out the door and closed it slowly, continuing to move. The path led forward a little then turned left, and he saw that they were on a platform overlooking the top of the cage. There was a bundle of chains and a meat hook hanging from the ceiling, and on the hook rested the red dog head. Fortunately, it was dangling low enough for Raze to grab it with his hands, but before he could do anything with it, he felt a hand grab his from behind and spin him around. He was face to face with Nick, who proceeded to quickly kick him down into the cage room below. He then grabbed Lory and threw her down there as well, jumping down inside with them. He was equipped with a large fire axe.

"You ain't gettin' away!" he taunted.

"GAAH!" Lory fell to the ground below flat on her back. Squirming about in pain for a few seconds, she slowly lifted herself up, and soon met eyes with the dreaded undying man. Startled, she took a few steps back until she collided against one of the bags hanging from the hooks. She grit her teeth, tightened the grip onto the iron pipe in her right hand and, without thinking too much about it, charged forward at Nick. Letting all of her rage out, ignoring all reasoning, she attempted a horizontal swing aimed at his head.

The pipe met with Nick's face head on, knocking a few of his teeth out. The old man stood there and took the hit, cackling as he did. He grabbed his axe with both hands and sent a retaliating swing at Lory.

Considerably shocked by how Nick barely even flinched from her swing, Lory had very little time to react to his counterattack. As her pupils shrunk at the same time that the man pulled his weapon back, she put both of her arms up in front of her face in a defensive position and prepared for the worst.

The axe hit her upper left arm area near her torso: from the sheer force of the impact, Lory instinctively let go of her footing and allowed herself to be thrown to the side as to try and lessen the damage caused by the weapon's blade. Being flung away, she crashed against the inner walls of the cage, landing on her rear. Immediately, she let out a cry of pain, pressing against the wound on her left arm to stop the bleeding. Although the cut wasn't deep enough to completely chop the arm off, it still looked rather ugly.

"Ahh!... Huff... Nnngh!... Fucking shit!..." She grunted, struggling to raise her hand. "Raze!... Th...Throw me a med!..." She urged.

As Nick approached Lory, Raze got in the way, raising his shotgun and pointed it at the old man's chest, blowing him away. He knelt down on one knee, and the left side of his neck opened up. A large fleshly substance appeared from the gaping cut, covering up his left shoulder, as if his guts were being puked up from the cut itself. Raze eyes widened at the sight, but quickly focused his attention to Lory while he still had time. He took a first aid med out of his bag and poured it on her wound, watching it close up in front of him. Now that she was treated, he turned his attention to the old man, as the fleshy substance slinked back into the cut it came from. His other wounds seemed to have regenerated as well. He began to laugh evilly as he slowly walked over to a small area blocked by a chain link fence. He tore through the fence and approached a stretcher with a covered corpse. There were two things sticking out of it; one was a chainsaw, and the other, looked to be a giagantic pair of crude rusty trimmers, which Nick took. Raze noticed that one of the blades was a chainsaw, which began to rev up.

"Groovy!!" Nick said, as he raised the new terrifying weapon in the air.

"Oh, no, that's anything but!" Raze shouted as Nick charged at him. He quickly stepped to the side and avoided the attack. Eyeing the other chainsaw, Raze quickly ran towards it. He saw an idicator light blinking on it, meaning it was still functional. He revved it up, and it sprung to life. Nick was cackling at the sight of it. 

"Atta boy, that's the ticket!" he said, beckoning him to come forward.

After Lory recovered from her injury, she promptly managed to get back up on her hooves. However, upon inspecting the scene that unfolded in front of her, she became hesitant. Both Nick and Raze brandished unconventional, absurd-looking weapons which the mare could only imagine coming from a torture horror flick - nevertheless, nothing she didn't expect to find in that place.

Thinking carefully about the situation, she decided to stay back and try to not interfere for the time being, given she was severely outclassed weapon-wise. Perhaps she would keep a watchful eye and jump in once an opportunity arises. With that plan in mind, Lory backed up to the opposite end of the cage and hid behind one of the sacks hanging from the meat hooks.

Raze began to circle around Nick, who just charged forward at Raze. He opened up the giant trimmers and held them up to his waist horizontally, meaning to bisect him. Raze quickly stepped to the right side and slashed at him, cutting him in his left arm. Unfazed, Nick retaliated by slashing back at him, with Raze blocking with the chainsaw at the last minute. The chainsaw part of Nick’s weapon collided with Raze’s, and sparks began to fly everywhere with the old man staring down at Raze with a devilish grin. They both managed to break free of each other, and Raze decided to run straight at him, slashing at his neck. The chainsaw dug deep into the right side of his neck, almost burying itself there. Blood sprayed everywhere, with Nick even yelling out in pain, as Raze tried to remove it. He gave the saw a good tug, and it finally came loose, leaving a giant gash where the chainsaw used to be. Nick was standing there, trying to recover.

"Alright!" Lory exclaimed as she came flying out of hiding. Holding a good grip onto her weapon, she swiftly ran towards the staggered Nick and followed up with an attack aimed at the side of his neck near where the chainsaw had cut. Full of vigor, the mare stepped forward, pulled the pipe back akin to a baseball batter's motion, and struck the man, hoping to immobilize him completely. Right afterwards, she hopped backwards as to stray clear from his scissor-like instrument's range.

An audible grunt could be heard from Nick as the pipe hit him where his wound was. He staggered to the left, wildly swinging his weapon once and hitting nothing but air. Raze came in, and slashed at him again, hitting him in his chest.

Lory gritted her teeth in annoyance. "Would you drop dead already you son of a bitch!?" She demanded as she prepared yet another attack. Holding the pipe above her head, she swung down at the man's head with mighty determination, and afterwards, quickly followed up by pulling the weapon upwards, towards the direction of his chin.

The old man was knocked back at the impact of the pipe. He began to growl furiously, probably the first signs of frustration from him.

“ARRRGH!! That’s it!!” he shouted, swinging his weapon violently. He turned to Lory, and opened up the giant trimmers slightly. 

“Don’t lose your head!” he said to her, running at her with full speed, meaning to close the weapon on her and bisect her.

Immediately when she saw the man charging wildly towards her direction with the trimmers opened up, she began backing away. But soon enough, she realized that she wasn't going to be able of outrunning him. At the same pace that Nick got closer, Lory became more and more panicked, incapable of thinking straight. He eventually reached her and, just fractions of a second before too late, her instincts kicked in and the mare threw herself to the ground, ducking just below the attack's reach: she could feel the wind created by the scissor's hard closing motion blowing onto her hair, as well as the sound of rusted metal clinking right up close to her earshot.

After taking a couple of seconds to confirm that she was still alive and that her head was still attached to her neck as it should be, while still crouched, Lory looked up to meet the man standing above her. Quickly, she took a swing with the pipe aimed at the man's shins to hopefully stagger him. After that, she swiftly crawled out of the way, gaining some distance between them once again.

The swing brought Goldhoof to his knees, and he wasn't able to react quickly enough when Raze, seeing an opportunity to strike, rushed in and brought the chainsaw down on his head. It sunk into his skull halfway, stopping between his eyes. A loud squelching noise combined with the increasingly loud roar of the saw's engine could be heard as the tool's metal teeth tore through his head, blood and even small chunks of brain splattering everywhere, with the old man screaming hysterically in pain. Raze yanked it out of him, and he was on his knees once more. The left side of his neck opened up and the red fleshy substance began pouring out of the opening once again. Raze revved up the chainsaw and approached him, driving it in the substance and into Nick's shoulder. Blood and more chunks of meat sprayed everywhere, though Nick was screaming even louder this time. Raze kicked him off the saw, and he fell to the ground, struggling to get up. He was shaking uncontrollably

"You... you are all gonna DIE here!!" he said, followed by the top half of his body exploding in a grotesque flash of blood and guts. Raze raised his arms, shielding himself from the gory explosion. He lowered them to see Nick's legs, fall to the ground, only to get up a second later, start walking towards Raze, and fall down again. A pool of blood began to flow from the missing upper half of his body.

Raze slowly lowered the chainsaw. The room was silent, aside from the soft rumble of the chainsaw engine and the ambient echo of the large room. He stared at the pair of legs in front of him, not sure if the old man was truly dead after all this.

Lory remained silent for a few seconds, watching in shock as the entire scene unfolded before her eyes. The aftermath of the absolute slaughter that had been the skirmish against Nick Goldhoof had come to a halt. Whether or not they could finally celebrate victory: whether or not the psychopath would no longer pose an obstacle to them. The mare was clueless about it. Breathing heavily, she simply stared at what had remained of the old man after the sudden explosion. Unknowingly to herself, she didn't feel her stomach turn as bad as it did back when she and Raze first arrived at the house and met with the gory festival that awaited them. As frightening as it sounded, she was getting used to it.

"...This has to be it, right?" Lory broke the silence. "T...There's no way he can recover for that... I mean, he's... he's gone, isn't he? Like... literally, gone. Poof. Dust in the wind." As the words came out of her mouth, she progressively became ecstatic. "...We can get out of here! We got the final piece, there's no one stopping us now!... Ray-Ray, let's fucking bounce, dude!!"

Raze looked at her. "Huh? Yeah... yeah! Let's get out of here," he said, searching for the exit to the cage. He walked over to it, noting the steel blockade used to bar the door shut. He noticed it was bolted to the door.

"Hmm..." He looked at the chainsaw he was holding, then revved it up, using it to cut through the blockade. It became stuck halfway through, though Raze kept pushing it down, hoping it would still cut through. After a few more seconds, it did, though it broke the chainsaw in the process. Raze dropped it on the floor and re-equipped his shotgun, quickly navigating his way out of the processing room.

"We need to figure out what it is we need to do when we get out of here," he said to Lory. "This doesn't end with us leaving the property; we still need to find our way back to town... on foot."

"We'll come up with something once we open that door and get a breath of fresh air. Besides, I'm willing to bet we'll be much safer outside... So long as these lunatics don't own any dogs or something like that." Lory shudders, quickly shaking the idea off. "By the way... We haven't heard of that phone lady in a while... If we could get in touch, maybe she can help us out. She did say we needed to leave the house first, didn't she?" She talks as they jog their way out of the basement area.

They had made their way out of the basement area, and were walking up the stairs.

"I don't know what's happened to her," Raze said to Lory. "Hopefully, she'll meet us in person once we get out--"

He nearly jumped when he saw someone blocking his way as he rounded a corner. It was an elderly woman in a wheelchair, staring at both of them with an empty gaze, mouth slightly open. It was almost as if a corpse was staring right at them, though Raze could see signs of breathing coming from her. She didn't do anything, just stared at them. He slowly made his way past her, her head following him as he did. He shuddered.

Must be another member of the family... he thought.
