Is Princess Twilight's character going to be the end of this series?

I'm not saying this is true is just my prediction. In Season 6 and 7 Princess Twilight feels less useful now and I think her final Development will be in the movie. I get she did a lot in Season premieres and finales but she's the main character of this show. Even thought Starlight is doing a lot more then her like having more episodes, being part of the Equestria Girls Specials (when will Princess Twilight return in Equestria Girls?), and she even has better spell effects that doesn't mean Princess Twilight should never be used. She should at least have a little more development like returning to Equestria Girls (I know this has nothing to do with EG but I have my reasonings of Twilight coming back to EG) and see what she can do next unlike the movie. Things always have to change but not in a way that takes forever.

Not sure that has to be true though - development doesn't mean Twi has to always be the focus of "Team Friendship" - in the finale of S6 we saw her in the "helpless prisoner" role normally adopted by Celestia and family, in addition to the entire student and teacher subtheme that ran though that season. As the literal representation of the Element of Magic in addition to her Princess role, I can totally see her hosting an institute of advanced magical studies in her castle, as a graduate programme from Celestia's school, and growing into a more administrative position while a new generation of ponies go out and explore....

Merchandise man. If they run out of Plots, they'll come up with new ones, you can't just chuck away the kids favorite characters and replace them, hasbro learned that with transformers.

Reported for using logic on MLP Forums. I'm glad that H-Bro is counting on their brands to sell while indirectly announcing they are putting all pony eggs into the Movie basket. Twilight and Dash especially are becoming more and more synonymous with the brand itself so pushing them aside is not really a good idea. While some of us have dreams, others be trippin'.

Eh, I wouldn't say dash so much (even if I WISH that were true).

Pinkie is FAR more synonymous with the brand, she's practically the focus piece of the movie trailer despite twilight narrating it. dash is more third banana at this point, and its a pretty distant third sadly.

Even though Twilight is one of my favourite characters in the show, It's very possible that could happen for her character development to be finished in the movie. 

We just have to wait and see what happens.

I wouldn't be so sure. It seems to me they are using Dash way more as the face of the brand than Pinkie, though there is more Pinkie within the Movie trailer. We'll have to wait for her pirate interactions. I for one expect "slightly greater" things from her.

I dunno, RD actually looks like she'll be getting a few cool moments, between fighting/befriending the pirates and the Sonic Rainboom, whereas Pinkie looks like she'll still be the comic relief whose job is to make jokes and be loud. Still, that's still a lot more than can be said about the other 3, who were almost nonexistent :/

The show does not need to focus on Twilight to be a good show, it seems to be a good show without her being the main character these days since Starlight seems to be doing a better job than her at the moment. It seems weird that she would be the main character considering that she was once captured by Chrysalis and made it look like what happened in the S6 Finale never happened at all.

sad thing about that trailer was how the other 3 literally had no lines or anything besides standing in the background and cheering; I'm hoping they get some good focus, since I always love Rarity's personality.
