Season 7- Should I care?

By this point S7 beats the shit out of S6

I feel there is much to like in Celestial Advice - we get some insight into Celestia (not as much as the later episode, but this is in the context of Twilight's time at Celestia's School) and reinforcement of how much Twi adores her mentor (Plus the parallels with Twi/SG of course). We get Twi's awesome Holodeck spell (again, not quite as cool as her later music box spell, but still pretty cool) and some decent sarcastic comments from Spike. Discord's manipulation of Twi is good, and you can't be QUITE sure if he didn't get what he wanted for Starlight (despite his protests at the end) because, well, Discord.  And the final scene between SG and Twi is both touching and establishes a tone for their relationship moving forward in the season (not that THAT is going to stop Twi trying to micromanage her later of course...)

I do feel the whole episode felt padded though, to reach required length.  Pacing is also a factor in other episodes, where either they feel rushed or drawn out/padded, which is a distraction from otherwise good stories. Other than that, S7 has given me many more gems to treasure than rotten tomatoes to rush past (although I can accept some other fans may actually have enjoyed episodes I didn't) and is shaping up to be one of the better seasons so far.
