What if humans were as connected to nature as ponies?

The animals would still attack us because that's what they do to other animals. As for the technology, yes I do believe we would have invented it but a lot slower. After all not having fingers can really hinder progress but as we've seen in MLP they have movies, video games, Iv's, The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000, and other gizmo's.

Connected to nature as in able to buck fruits of the tree with a single back-kick?

Even in the show the ponies aren't that connected to the nature. They still lives in a pony-made house and relies to a lesser extent of technologies. You didn't see them sleeps in a cave and eats from the grass, right?

Yes, but a lot of our major advances in technology were so we could survive more easily, precisely because we aren't as attuned to nature as animals (which makes sense).

So if we were all natural and whatnot, a lot of technological stuff wouldn't be needed, so while we still would have it, we wouldn't be nearly as advanced.

Would be trading off for shit-tons less pollution and climate change and basically most of our negative impacts on environment around the globe, in exchange for being far slower to develop technology-wise. Not necessarily 'uncivilized' or 'undeveloped', but far less machine-oriented as we are.

I think I would like to live in a world like Equestria. I don't even mean turning into a pony. They seem to have a high level of medical care. Note how fast Rainbow's wing healed. I would miss a lot of high technology, but I would be happy reading all the books and scrolls available. yes, life would be good!
