Why they don't seem to use their allies.

I often wonder, in certain episodes or even the movie. Why they don't call for their allies? Seriously, had Starlight and her group had gone to Griffinstone and or the Dragon  Lands they would have all the air, claw and firepower needed to end any threat they face. If that happened and The Queen had seen the numbers in that kind of army, I think she would surrender.

Heck, I fought the Storm Kings while army couldn't beat that.(now add Changelings to that list of allies)

By this is after all a show about the power of friendship so I shouldn't think too much about it.

still love the show though.:P

I always thought that the whole Equestria gaining allies thing was building up to something

I mean, tell me this doesn't add up

Equestria makes Allies with yaks, dragons, and Griffons in season 5-6

All of a sudden we learn that the season 6 finale is a hobbit reference.

Battle of the five armies was in the hobbit,  add changelingas as the main force and that would have been a huge opportunity.

But no, it feels like we gained all these new allies for nothing.

Agreed, had this happened I feel Season 6's finale would have been an instant classic.

the armies make up 5 groups total

Starlight's Group

The Dragon Army

The Yak Army

The Griffons Army

The Changeling Army

The Battle of the Four Armies, while Starlights group infiltrates the Hive.

I think you could exclude the whole side character thing and just had Equestria gets invaded by a more powerful and prepared Changeling force, the princesses and mane 6 are still kidnapped (along with Discord for plot reasons, they could see he followed on his own and lost his magic to the Dark stone. And with the stone Equestria is left far weaker due to the lack of magic, so when Canterlot is falling and the changelings are advancing upon Equestria, the yaks, griffons, and Dragons come to Equestrias aid and push the changelings back. Starlight, Trixie, and Thorax will sneak into the hive and go to the throne room within the last 10 minutes of the episode, we learn from Thorax during the initial invasion that they are always starving, and then boom we get the same ending scene with the changelings reforming and Chrysalis leaving, except no Summer sun celebration, not too much focus on the hive itself until the end.

I agree, that would have been amazing!

I think they might be saving that till later! ;) I like how the season 6 finale turned out with just the four of them! Except the timing of the episode though. There should've been more Thorax episodes before he became king.

Oh I still enjoyed To Where and Back again and hope the allies thing was building up to something after all.

I agree with you there. I would have loved to have seen him a bit more before his transformation.

Why didn't they get allies, uh? I always thought it's because Discord whisked them away into the thick of it before they even had any chance to formulate a plan. I mean Starlight technically never chose her group they all just fell into place. It was clear she wasn't confident on doing this on her own but once she was thrown right into it by Discord, along with other characters not willing to lead, she knew she had to take over and guide them and at that point she had no time to think about reinforcements.
