Memes aside;
You can become a staff member by expressing your interest in becoming one, assuming, that they currently are looking for new members of course.
For example, they were recruiting some time ago (and I think they still are?):

So- that's it. If you'll appear to be a good candidate, they may give you that position. It more or less works the same way as getting a normal real life job.
Other than that, if you'd appear to be a really good candidate, but haven't expressed your interest- they might ask you if you'd like to be a part of their team by themselves, though it really depends on maaaaaaany things and I'm not sure if they're recruiting that way here. :derp:

I wonder this too,

sadly I don't know but hopefully the mod that reads my reply awnsers this or any other mod or previous members of staff

1. You apply via the application linked above.

2. It is reviewed by all current staff.

3. If assistance is needed and your application sounds promising you are contacted via PM.

4. You may have an interview with the other staff so that they can get a better idea of your personality and disposition in a chat format.

5. If their are no objections and you have a strong upside, you are invited to join MLPF staff as a Sectional Moderator.

6. Advancement requires teamwork, effort, patience, a strong desire to support both staff and the general community, good judgement, a decent amount of empathy, and a fair mind. Advancement usually follows this pattern.

Sectional Moderator > Global Moderator > Team Leader Moderator > Administrator.

There is a much higher bar for Administrator. There are very few former Administrators that continued to be a part of this community after stepping down, usually due to the stressors of the role itself. Currently, MLPF has two previous Admins that are regularly active. Being a Mod is not easy, though there are current and previous staff that make it seem so. Managing this entire community as an Admin is also not as simple as it looks. Almost every successful Mod and Admin had a higher tolerance for the unique dispositions that come with a fandom community.

I personally treasured my own time in all the roles I was honored with the opportunity to fill. I got out of the experience what I put into the experience. While I usually play down my own involvement, I put forth a considerable effort in each position and made myself extremely approachable.

I think each of the previous and current Administrators will agree that the constant juggling of tasks and smoothing of personalities is taxing to the point of a borderline masochistic nature. Many would likely warn other staff away from accepting an internal promotion to Admin, yet ... all of us would agree that no matter the difficulty ... it was worth the time and effort.

TL;DR ... not an easy jerb. Twilight says it best.
