Could "Pony Fiction" one day be a thing?

With G5 coming in the next few years and having its own setting, do you think we may see Ponies become its own genre of fiction? It could basically just be a form of Speculative Fiction, among Fantasy, Science Fiction, Horror, Alternate History, Apocalyptic, Dystopian, Superhero, etc. Pony Fiction would basically overlap all those things, and could accommodate virtually any genre of fiction. Every Pony Fiction story can have a setting of its own.

I mean, if it gets enough mainstream attention, maybe some people would publish pony fiction stories. Buttttttttttttttt I don't honestly see that happening because Hasbro would have a fit if they found out people were writing actual print stories about ponies from MLP, mostly because that's their product being portrayed in sometimes harmful situations (such as if the book took place in a dystopia where ponies were being killed or brainwashed). They would go on massive damage control and probably shut down the authors making the books or work out some royalty deal with the author.

The thing is though, that these stories would have nothing to do with the MLP franchise, and would take place in their own universes.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I still don't know if there's going to be much of an "explosion" of stories created, but then again, it's not like I can tell the future.

Exactly. There's a substantial amount of pony fanfiction in every genre imaginable, sooooo...
