I wonder if suitable post-processing could restore a more natural colour range from an IR image though? Hide contents *boop* The funny thing is, every DSLR camera hath an IR filter, but thou can't turn it off without disassembling the DSLR camera, so... I need some solution. The IR lightening itself is not a problem, but as I said, the colours shall be not natural and that's undesired. Although, I can share a few photos of the Full Moon above the woods (as the light was enough, unlike when I came across the cute fluffy bats family last night). 4 minutes ago, CypherHoof said: I wonder if suitable post-processing could restore a more natural colour range from an IR image though? The Recherche 29,982 April 30, 2018 Share April 30, 2018 @Alexshy Hm, yeah. Those photos look quite nice, but I can see where they need to be improved. I'm not even remotely a photographer, but it seems like the moonlight is interfering with the colors a bit. Regardless, I hope you can fix the issue one way or another sometime soon~! 2 ❆~ 𝓐𝓵𝔀𝓪𝔂𝓼 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓕𝓸𝓻𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻 𝓟𝓮𝓮𝓻𝓵𝓮𝓼𝓼 ~❆ 𝓕𝓲𝓿𝓮 𝓨𝓮𝓪𝓻𝓼 𝓲𝓷 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓜𝓪𝓴𝓲𝓷𝓰: 𝓜𝔂 𝓟𝓮𝓻𝓼𝓸𝓷𝓪𝓵 𝓕𝓻𝓲𝓮𝓷𝓭𝓼𝓱𝓲𝓹 𝓲𝓼 𝓜𝓪𝓰𝓲𝓬 𝓡𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓮𝔀

Some have the IR filter as part of the body assembly (especially when you have a digital back on a classic body) so they can use standard SLR lenses on their mount, others have them as part of the lens assembly so you can swap between IR filtering and non-filtering. The danger of course in using a non-filtering assembly is that in sunlight that can cause burnout of the CCD sensor array. I definitely need a filter, that's given, but that shan't nearly solve the problem of taking photos in very dark areas. It irks me so much - I can see everything perfectly without the additional light, but I can't relay all the beauty to you, without it... or affecting the image somehow. 2 minutes ago, CypherHoof said: That varies, I believe. Thou should definitely do that someday Well, the problem then is - I shall need to spend more time in the woods and at the water, instead of writing/posting hither, or drastically change mine schedule (I prefer night walks to evening walks, in the earnest). I shall find some solution, mine friend.
