The Molt Down explains so much about alicorns

I wonder if anyone has drawn the conclusion yet, that the still MIA race of alicorns that raised Celestia and Luna (according to the book that is canon in the series- the Journal of the Two Sisters) were all, quite obviously, phoenix breeders. This would explain why, as said in The Mold Down, that phoenix feathers cause ear infections, and why - if that were the case, they would always be yelling to hear one another, as Rarity was, in this episode. This would explain how THE ROYAL CANTERLOT VOICE came to be, and why Celestia's pet is a phoenix.

Up for debate, but the Canterlot voice idea is certainly an interesting one.

This headcanon is hilarious but I'm pretty sure Starswirl taught the sisters the Royal Canterlot Voice.  Perhaps he was a Phoenix breeder though.  Also, it's unknown how long Celestia has had Philomena so maybe Phoenix-caused ear infections were commonplace in the Castle of the Two Sisters, so maybe that's it.  I'm sure Celestia has since developed an immunity to it or she would have lost her hearing permanently due to frequent infections ages ago.

The origins of the Canterlot Voice have been reveled! Quick, get this theory to Big Jim for a confirmation, I think we're onto something here :twi:
