DJ Pon-3's music note is backwards

Why is the music note on DJ Pon-3's cutie mark backwards? This is her cutie mark:

I always thought that it was because DJ Pon-3 had a unique sound, unlike most music. That her musical individuality is her special trait that makes her different than all the rest, thus making it her cutie mark the thing defines who she is as a pony.

Are we sure it isn't facing the correct way on the other side of her rump? Maybe the animators took a shortcut and simply mirrored her cutie mark to place it on both sides of her flank?

I hadn't noticed this issue before, but that seems to be the explanation. These images are from the MLP Wiki's image gallery for "Slice of Life", and they show that the eighth notes are oriented correctly on her right flank, and reversed on her left flank.

Nice legwork (pun not intended, lol.) In fact, I'll bet if we looked carefully most if not all of the ponies with cutie marks have them facing one direction on one side and mirrored on the other. It's only when a cutie mark is a symbol like DJ's here do we really notice.

For example, Rainbow Dash's lightning points towards her hock on both sides of her flank. But that means it points left on one side and right on the other, so it too is reversed depending on which side you look at her from.
