modding on consoles.

So it was verry popular with the modding community during the ps3 and 360 era from custom firmwares and hardmodding on the 360’s and now for this generation its kinda warn down....what do you guys think ? has the modding community kinda out the window or still going on ? and im talking about hardware wise not software.

Likely because they've made it harder to mod modern consoles. The Wii and PSP for example are much easier to mod compared to the next gen consoles like the Switch and Vita, mainly due to piracy for Wii and PSP easier
