ManaMinori 4,145 September 22, 2018 Share September 22, 2018 I stumbled across an interesting post on my Tumblr feed of what I immediately assumed was a cute artist rendering of Applejack in a similar style to that of g4. However, once I read the text beneath the picture, I realized just how wrong I was. Quote Today we were talking about Latin American animation and I was reminded of this fantastic movie, Ico el Caballito Valiente (literally “Ico the brave little horse”) It’s a lovely Argentinian movie with a precious art style that looks a lot like G4 MLP and is just a delight. I don’t think it’s subbed in English anywhere, sadly, but it’s full on YouTube and if you don’t mind being a little lost about the dialogue, the animation is still precious and fun to see, Argentinian animation is full of little gems like this, check it out if you got some time! source: http://fizzy-dog.tumblr.com/post/178324836864/today-we-were-talking-about-latin-american Have you guys watched this? How do you feel about the art style and animation compared to that of FiM? BornAgainBrony 2,398 September 22, 2018 Share September 22, 2018 (edited) Interesting. I was expecting this to be a modern film attempting to cash in on the popularity of G4 and then realized wow, this was from 83, but the style looks like it's a LOT closer to G4 than the original MLP. I wonder if Lauren saw this movie? The whole movie is on youtube if you don't mind subtitles. I'll be sure to give this a watch at some point. Looks really cute and the quality of some of the trick shots I caught a glimpse of kind of reminds me of "The Last Unicorn." SharpWit 2,682 September 22, 2018 Share September 22, 2018 Looks like an anime version so a more human like face is applied and results in something similar to the current art style

I really don't think Lauren ever saw the movie, seeing as how she's never mentioned it in any of her interviews at conventions or EQD, as what she took inspiration from Under the Jellicle Moon- a site with cuteness, cat boys, and comic strips / Star Dreams Fanclub
Gestum 2,493 September 22, 2018 Share September 22, 2018 It doesn't look that much like gen 4. Nevertheless I have wanted to watch a Argentinean movie for a while now, so I'll check it.
Acons 43 September 22, 2018 Share September 22, 2018 I knew of this movie by other brony who showed me this. Visually it has some resemblance with FiM, but I don't this last one took inspiration...
