The unicorn moved to rest his front half on the counter-top, facing Copper, rather than join him in the cluttered living room, "I'm Lift, and yes, the letters indicated as much concerning your name."

There was the sound of a door opening and closing from further down the hallway, followed by a pegasus entering the kitchen from behind Lift, who set down a large pair of paper bags on the counter next to the unicorn. He didn't seem to have noticed Copper yet as he started to remove items from the bags to set on the counter, mostly foodstuffs, where the unicorn would float them away to wherever they belonged.

But Copper could see from his seat the very distinct nature of this pegasus' tail. Or the very clear fact that, true to his nickname, his tails did in fact move independently of each other.

The Earth pony nodded at Lift and sighed contently in his seating position, getting comfortable before the Wind Surfer he was looking for arrived.  The moment he saw the two tails moving independently rewarded a face that would tell anyone he was intrigued by this guy.  How did a pony have two tails?  Did it enhance or hinder his ability to fly?  He was sure Twilight would want to know these things as well.

Whatever the case, he hopped off his seat and approached Wind.  "Hello there," he greeted.  "I'm Copper Strikes, the one you've been waiting for.  Sorry I didn't come here when you intended me to be, but I chose a quicker route to get here."

It seemed that his announcement surprised the pegasus, though he didn't react as negatively as the one he had touched, in fact the only outward indication of surprise was that his tails spun themselves together before he turned around to look at him. He looked shocked, and a bit confused, but no hint of surprise on his face. "Wow," he looked Copper over, "You're much blue-er than I thought, 'specially for a stud." his look turned more to one of curiosity, "How'd you manage to get here so fast? My letter would only have arrived like, yesterday, and the ferry doesn't even leave Manehatten till tomorrow."

He shrugged, a smile on his face that drooped as he looked around the house, his brother idly sipping a drink as he looked on. "Yeah... I can't say we're ready for you quite yet, but gimme a mo' and I'll clear some space so you sleep well tonight alright?" He moved to trot down the hall, "Make yourself at home stud, can't wait to show you how awesome this place is."

With that he turned out of sight, the unicorn set down his cup, "So, you're from Equestria huh? What's it like there?" He held up a hoof as he shook his head, "No, that's too broad a question," he paused a moment, "What do you do there? How do you contribute to society?"

Copper smiled at Wind as the Pegasus spoke to him, but still had some thoughts about the two tails his exchange pony had.  However, he said to the Pegasus, "It's a bit complicated, but I can show you some time later or tomorrow."

He nodded at the Pegasus as he said he'll make room for him to sleep.  "Much appreciated," he replied.  "Having to walk this way from the Outward, assuming the area after the Inward is called the Outward, took a bit of a toll on me."

He then looked at Lift before replying to his question.  "Well, I work as a mailpony back in Ponyville, where I currently live.  I also contribute a lot in my society, occasionally helping friends there with certain projects, like construction, baking, etc."

The unicorn seemed intrigued, "Mail carrier, interesting career. I would assume a local EPS carrier right? Not the Pony Express?"

(EPS is the Equestrian Postal Service. The Pony Express is more of an international package delivery service that some consider safer than the EPS)

It wasn't long before Wind came back, "Alright, the guest room's all ready for you if you want to store your stuff there, it's the second door on the left, bathroom's the first door on the same side."

He looked around as if trying to remember if he had forgotten anything, before simply smiling at Copper "There anything else you need? I can't say I have much experience with this."
