What if we got g1 for g5?

With so many other IP holders cashing in on nostalgia (Invader Zim, Care Bears, Rock's Modern Life, She-Ra, TMNT) nowadays, it shouldn't be much of a surprise that Hasbro would want to do the same. Rather than continuing a new reboot with the same old g4 characters, what if they went back to their roots and moved g1 characters into g5, with a lot of the familiar faces that collectors grew up with, such as Gusty, Firefly, Surprise, Blue Belle, Cotton Candy, Snuzzle, Sparkler, Minty, Whizzer, Butterscotch, Fizzy, and more?

Moondancer was the only pony from g1. Lemon Hearts, Twinkleshine, and Colgate are all ponies who were characters made for g4

I dunno. g4 is swamped with g1 references. If things were as you say, with hardly any people remembering g1, then a lot of the g1 references and revamped characters in g4 would've been unnecessary and gone over everyone's heads

Sounds awesome but I don’t think it would be allowed. They tried that with G4 and it didn’t work (although exceptions like AppleJack and Spike were made).

I probably wouldn't watch it then, maybe give it a try though to at least see how it is.
