ManaMinori 4,149 January 14, 2019 Share January 14, 2019 (edited) Yanno, hypothetically. Let's say it really is going the way of the dodo and wooly mammoth. Why is it (hypothetically) dying, when the g1, 2, and 3 fandoms still survive after 35 years of no new animated content and scarcely any new merchandise? What is the difference, do you guys think, that keeps the past gen fandoms kicking, albeit, with smaller communities from when they were at their peak, than the (hypothetical) dying g4 fandom? Gestum 2,493 January 14, 2019 Share January 14, 2019 The same people who say that the g4 fandom is dying would say that the past gen fandom have been dead since a long time ago.
BastementSparkle 20,335 January 14, 2019 Share January 14, 2019 Pretty much what @Gestum said. The people who say the G4 fandom is dying think that because the fandom has shrunk and slowed down and isn't really in the spotlight that much anymore, at least not to the same extent it was. The previous gens might still have their dedicated fans who love to collect the toys, or make their own fanworks or discuss with other fans, but that's still dead in these people's eyes because they're no longer really "Popular". If G4 became a fandom like the previous gens, with a smaller but still dedicated and loyal fanbase, then it's "dead" to them. Twilight is best pony. Why hello MLPForums! What have ya been up to?
