Winter gives her an affectionate nudge and takes her hand 

" Then it looks like we were good for each other. So lets grabs some sweets and meet up with Iron Feather. Though we might need extra because I am feeling a bit peckish " 

Winter chuckled at the last statement and smiled broadly.

Tranquil giggled and nodded "Getting some extra sounds like a good idea to me" she would say as her stomach would growl hungrily "I think my stomach agrees as well" she says, walking alongside him "and I think we are good for each other too"

Winter lead them through the streets of Canterlot the buzz of the morning crowds was starting to thin as ponies made their way to work and other duties. Winter smiled and was content as the crowds flowed around them and moved them along. 

" So after Iron Feathers party do you have anything you want to do? "

Tranquil thought for a moment and then smiles at him "Well, depending on how tired we are after, I'd like to go on a proper date" she'd say to him "If we're too tired, then maybe just order food in and snuggle in front of the fire, maybe discuss things like life"

Winter let his nose lead him to a high end chocolate and baked good store. As the drew close the smell of fresh breads and chocolate caused a mighty rumble from Winter stomach

" I think we will indeed need that snack " 

He laughed as he held the door open for Tranquil 

" I would love to go on a proper date..... though I am unsure what exactly that means but I am game for trying most things

Tranquil followed Winter to the store and as she heard his stomach grumble, hers did so in turn. "I think you maybe right about that snack" she says with a slight blush and a giggle, as she looked at the sweets "ooh I think I'll have the triple chocolate eclair, how about you dear?" she would ask "oh and with the date thing, we'll come up with something later"

Winter grabbed a few griffon scones and eclairs as well as a few bars of chocolate. He fished his final few bits out and managed to pay for their snacks with about half of his remaining money until pay day. He smiled softly and wished the shop keep well. 

" What do you think will this carry us until the meal? I figure the snacks can be shared with Iron Feather as we will be a tad early and we will have plenty of time to get to know the ponies that come to wish him well. Honestly this is likely to be a lively party as its a monks last chance to let loose before taking the full robes and living at the temple full time except for a yearly visit to the lay people. "

Tranquil smiles "I'm fairly sure that they will carry us until the meal, dear" she says and nuzzles him lovingly "I do hope he enjoys our gifts" she says, walking alongside her stallionfriend and smiled some more. She then leans over and kisses him.

Winter returned the kiss with a blush. He was so focused on the moment that he did not hear the wolf whistle and disapproving clucks from the surrounding crowd. 

" I am sure he will love them. We might not have seen him in a long time but I know his tastes insanely well. " 

Winter smiled softly as they wound through the streets of Canterlot to find Iron Feathers parents place.

Tranquil smiles and nods as they walk towards and find themselves in front of Iron Feathers' parents' place. "Well, here we are, guess we made it early" she smiles, "Shall we?" she asks, motioning towards the door.

Winter chuckles and shakes his head. 
 

" Its best you cover your ears.... " 

He then takes a deep breath. His eyes narrow to slits with focus. And his hands form the air mudra. With a deep breath he summons up a bit or chi and lets out a shrill whistle that seems t rattle the very bones of those who hear it. The blast shakes the glass of Iron Feathers house and reverberates down the street. 
Winter stands their snickering at the private joke between the two of them. 

" Iron Feather is going to want to kill me after that little reminder.... "

She covers her ears just in time to not have to hear whatever Winter had done. When he was done, she uncovered her ears "A chi technique?" she asks him, while they waited for Winter's friend to arrive to greet them.

There is a booming laugh from the house and Iron Feather crashes through the door just as Winter opens his mouth 

" Yes its an i.......hurk! "

Winters response is cut short as he is embraced in a bone crushing hug. Then as Winter is let go and sits gasping Iron Feather turns to Tranquil. 

" I am honored you could make it miss. It means a lot for people to be here on such an important day. "

Tranquil smiles at Iron Feather "Of course Iron, any friend of Winter's is a friend of mine, and it is an important day" she says with a smile, helping Winter up and smiling more "Oh yes, we brought snacks"

Winter got to his hooves and chuckled shaking Iron Feathers hand. 

" That was an in joke between us. When we were learning chi techniques we read ahead in the training texts and ended up waking the entire temple by practicing after lights out. We tried to learn how to use air and weather techniques and well the whistle was a mistake that had the exact results we just heard. The punishment was extra martial exercises and cleaning the temple by ourselves for three months. "

Tranquil giggles and smiles "I bet that was very hard work" she says "Didn't seem to teach you the lesson though" she jokes, playfully jostling Winter playfully. "Shall we enter?" she asks, "these snacks won't eat themselves and we're  both pretty hungry"

Iron Feathers face is a comical mix of embarrassment at being a poor host and extreme excitement at the word snack. He finally waves them both towards the door and clears his throat. 

" Of course lets go inside. " 

The inside of the house was open and spacious with very expensive furniture and artwork. It was clear the two elderly ponies that smiled warmly in greeting were well off and that their son could have a life of luxury.

Tranquil smiles as she held Winter's hand and they walk in. She looked around, and just wondered why Iron would give up on a life of luxury. She shrugs and smiles as she is introduced to Iron's parents and offers them a snack.

Winter smiles at the elderly ponies and hugs them both. 

" Its good to see you again Swift Feather and Soft Feather please tell me that you made your cinnamon rolls for the event? "

The Feathers laugh and Soft Feather hurries off to return with a large platter of cinnamon rolls and carafe of coffee 

" Please both of you take a seat. Who are you my dear and how do you know Winter Bolt and Iron Feather?  "

Tranquil smiles as she takes a seat "well Winter and I met a couple of days ago. I was performing at the Canterlot Street Cafe, and he liked my music. I offered him a room at my apartment and a job at my store to keep a roof over his head and bits in his pocket, and things just kind of went from there. As for Iron, I met him yesterday through Winter" she explains and smiles as she holds Winter's hand.

Pouring the coffee soft feather gestured for everyone to add cream and sugar to their liking. She then proceded to plate the rolls and set them on the small coffee table in between the chairs. 
" Well you must be a generous pony to take in somepony you have never met before. I mean I know Winter is a good sort if my Iron Feather thinks so highly of him but still one can never be too careful and such. " 

Swift Feather sipped his coffee appearing to think for a moment before speaking. 

" So what do you sell at your store Miss Tranquil? We are retired and living off of the residuals of our work but our former work was creative in nature. So owning a business is something entirely foreign to me and must be an exciting endeavor. "

Tranquil smiles "Oh well, Winter was a pony in need, and I remember the time I was in need and a stranger helped me. So I paid it forward" she would say and then look at Winter, holding his hand in hers "As for what I sell, mostly things to do with spirituality"

Winter smiled and squeezed her hand softly. 
 

" She really is a good pony to have taken in some wandering vagabond like myself. What is the plan for today any how? I know the ceremony but the events up to and after that are what I wonder about. " 

Iron feather smiled  and spoke between bites of cinnamon roll. 

" We will have a small party. I invited a few ponies from the area that I knew as a foal. After that a few of us were going to go out for drinks. Then at sunset tomorrow I head back to the monastery for a long time. "

Soft and Swift Feather looked at their son with pride but a bit of sadness at rarely being able to see him after he leaves.

Tranquil smiles and gave Winter's hand a soft squeeze in return "Well you know, it's not like I didn't get anything out of helping you dear" she'd say, giving him a soft nuzzle "I mean I got a co-worker for the store, a awesome housemate and an awesome stallionfriend, so it's win-win, if you ask me" she says as she then listens to the plan "that sounds like a great plan, I admit, I hadn't been to a party in ages, though"

Iron feather lets out a hearty laugh and claps his hand on Winters shoulder. 

" The vows are not for you friend. Your path lies in more interesting directions. But first I think we have a little matter to settle. I do hope you have something other then that fine suit to put on. "
 

Winter seems to go a bit pale and then sighs. 

" Iron we would tear apart this house.... cant you feel " 

Iron put up a hand and shook his head. 

" I know brother and that is why it must be settled. You know the wager and its important. Renpony asked it be done before I get back. There is a new gi in my room. Go get it. " 

The seriousness of Irons voice was a sharp change from his normal tone and Winter knew that a request from Renpony was important and not to be denied.
