Why there haven't been any songs in the season finales

Could 'Friends Are Always There For You' be the reason why there haven't been any songs in the other season finales after The Cutie Re-Mark? It seemed pretty forced, looking back. Not to mention, people blame it for not having a proper scene where Starlight reconciles with the village she took over.

I think it's because a lot of the prior finales were written such that they could also act as a series finale if they needed to. It's why "Friends are Always There For You" ends with that slow wide shot of all the characters in ponyville looking at the camera." or Let the Rainbow Remind You ends on that picture of the mane cast. That was potentially the final shot of the series. Starting with Season 6, they've known that they would get another season each time. so they could end on a less final note.

That sounds very likely.

The way the previous season finales have presented, they have immense stakes that don't really warrant a song to be sung which would eat up precious time, something that the show has had to deal with more times than any of us can even begin to understand. That being said, Gingerninja's response can also be taken into consideration as being more plausible than what I just said. I do expect a song in the series finale as it would be just like them to go and do it seeing as it will be the last hurrah.
