Very sad news. Michael Angelis, the narrator of Thomas & Friends in the UK from 1991 to 2012, died of a heart attack yesterday.

Being American, Angelis was never part of my childhood, but he was to all the British Thomas fans out there. He narrated for the show for thirteen seasons over a 21-year span. Kids in the UK who watched Thomas grew up with his soothing voice. He will be greatly missed.

As an American, I was never really familiar with Angelis’ narrations outside of the New Friends for Thomas DVD, but considering his history with the series and the British fans of Thomas and Friends who did grow up with his narrations, it is sad to see him go and he will be missed.

As somepony who grew up with Thomas and Friends, that's really sad news for me. In Ireland, we obviously got the UK editions that he narrated so his voice is very recognisable to me.
