"We sent people on our moon for science or whatever. Some human first. It took a few years before a canine and vulpine went to the moon due to high discrimination back in the day. It was a very historical moment for equality and all that. Most nations in my world are still ran by humans. Though, we do have a canine president. First canine to lead a country that has influence on the world stage. And no offense Myra!"

"Nah, Nomadikan nations are heavily isolated similar to uncontacted tribes. Something about being afraid of spreading disease or whatever, they really do underestimate my people."

From Myra's armor and the earlier fight, it was clear her level of technology was medieval at best.

"Ember, what does Equestria do for medicine? We use herbs and plants mostly in Nomadikós."

Nomadikós was the island on, judging by her way of talking about it.

Since she didn't get answer to her question, Ember started to make her way towards whatever was the closest place that looked like there was food, it was't like the conversation involved her anyway before she was asked a question "I have no experience on that field so I can't tell much, some things are spells rather than medicine, Zebras use lot of herbs and plants, I don't know what exactly ponies use to make medicine, but they are usually some form of potions. That's all I know." she was more familiar with taking lives rather than saving them.

"Actually marriage signifies commitment, also common among creationists like Sky and Myra. However, no point in arguing about marriage if we're not in that kinda relationship, right? Now that I think about it, whatever relationship we do have is pretty complicated. Even for me a dragon that can read thoughts and emotions. Harder to read them when they don't know what the feeling is, I am able to read some respect though. I could peer into your thoughts some more to see if what I could gather but, even then it's difficult and I'm sure you don't exactly like me in that head of yours. Emotions are kinda just project themselves, thoughts take more effort."

Ruby just blinked at Quasi, not really on the mood to talk about what to her was meaningless things, besides, even if she would have been on a mood to do so, she was not interested in mentioning her emotions when there was unwanted company around. "It's you who is lacking in brain if you can't understand why I would ask if someone is currently somewhere." her tone was cold, and her demeanor told that she looked down on the unnamed dragon. She continued when she made her way out of the room "I arrived yesterday, I haven't exactly been informed of your dear queen's schedule." 

Assuming she was not stopped with enough force, she would make her way to the throne room and without wasting time with waiting for permission, state her business "The pony princess of the night invaded my mind during the night, don't remember details but I had deemed it important enough to notify myself." "My guess is that they are regretting their mistakes and are trying to get me reconsider, so I'll ask you to, if you weren't already planning it, send me to a killing mission, more creatures the better. That would be a chance for you to test my allegiance if you have any doubts, and it would give me the chance to make it clear to them that I'm not interested in whatever they may offer." if it wasn't clear to them already, the way she just walked in and declared her business would show well just what kind of dragon she was, no titles, no apologies, nothing like that, just straight to the point with no regard for ranks or anything like that.

"Go ahead if you can do it while I get something to eat, can't comment on if Zebras are interested in interacting with you." Ember stated, she didn't necessarily want to know, but she also didn't dislike learning new things. She either went somewhere where she could buy food, or somewhere she could just take some, depending on if the city had anything open, regardless, she didn't stop moving until something like that was found, sure she could have gotten food on her own way, but this was a city, certainly there was easy food in a city for a omnivorous creature.

"I suspected they would try that. The fact you don't remember whatever they said proves my spell worked. And feel free to inflict pain on the yellow dragon."

"Hold on, let's talk ab-"

"No, we cannot have you disrespecting my guard, can we? You disrespecting my future guard shows you think I cannot competently pick my guards and thus disrespecting me. Plus, we know you're the spy that revealed I'm a draconequus... changeling."

"In fact... Ruby, you can actually start with killing him. Perhaps you can sniff out the spies here. As for Luna... I'll cause a little chaos."

"Some millennia ago, there existed a different set of packs on the island. Two of the packs were empires. One on the east named Orientem and the west Dytiká. The rest of the packs were good in their own right but weren't anything like the empires. Slowly but surely, the Empires would attack the many packs. Some surrendered, others destroyed. Until eventually, one pack named Patientia saw they were nearing an attack. The problem was that their leader died of illness, leaving a young coyote, Curre, 18 years old in charge. He however had a plan. They would move the entire pack of many thousands to new part of the land. Traveling southeast, they moved, staying ahead of the large armies. Though there may have been skirmishes. When they made it to their location, Curre devised a plan to dig underground to protect themselves and stay hidden."

"With them hidden. The Empires only had each other to fight. With guerrilla tactics and sabotage, the Patientians caused the two Empires to destroy each other. When the war ended and Patientia was the only land left, Curre declared that the land is called  Nomadikós, because they traveled like nomads to save their pack. Over time, packs appeared. They took territories according to their climate. Highlania and Chlora are both decedents of the two Empires. Only a shadow of their predecessors. The Patientians remain underground, the entrance blocked using a coyote-made river with water so fast, it cannot be crossed without the guards letting down the bridge."

After a few moments, someone thought to be defeated showed up.

"Now that I am separated from Princess Luna... THE NIGHT WILL LAST FOREVER! Well, in Equestria, I can only move the sun and moon in this world."

"Who's this? Looks like something I'd draw in kindergarten."

"W-what? How are you? I'm Nightmare Moon!"

Sky would casually take his pistol back from Ember and point it right at Nightmare Moon.

"Is that some kind of weapon? Is that supposed to make me fear you?"

"Hey Ember, can a firearm kill personified negativity?"

Ruby killed the dragon/changeling before he had time to react, he hadn't been specially annoying or anything, so she had no reason to prolong it, though it would leave quite a mess since the throat was the quickest way to do it. "I can do that, as long as I'm informed on what exactly I should be looking for, since I don't know what is the expected norm for your underlings." "My request also still stands if you at any point consider it." this spy hadn't really helped the case for the ponies and bunch, Ruby had gotten enough of the treatment she was getting and that was why she had left them, and what was the first thing a spy from their side did? insult and belittle her, they never learned it seems.

Ember didn't comment anything on the story, just nodding in acknowledgment, there seemed to be more information than was required for the explanation of their name, but again as stated, she didn't dislike new information.

"No idea, I don't know much about firearms and threats like this tend to be outside my pay-grade." this would ring true in her actions too, nightmare moon, real or not, was beyond her abilities, so she would mostly just focus on keeping herself safe rather than actively fighting, this was something for Luna and possibly the elements to deal with, or modern weaponry, she wasn't sure, it may be that advanced weaponry was effective in this situation. 

The threat to her was mainly the brute force of alicorn magic, her armor was magic resistant from material alone and it had plenty of enchantments to protect her from things like mind altering spells and levitation, but it was still just armor, and while it could take few blasts of magic even from alicorn, it had its limit, thus her strategy would mainly be, 'don't get hit by anything'

"Changelings have a specific smell. It takes a strong sense to catch them. Take in the smell of the changeling and use it to sniff out the spies. Now, you wish for a killing missions, yes? North of here is a fort of Dragonland forces. Kill them and bring me the head of their general, please."

Sky Canarius would acknowledge what he was told in his ear thing.

"World ending threat is what we have. Looks to me like a lot of money."

"You expect me to be killed, coyote? I am Nightmare Moon!"

And then began an interesting fight.

Sky would fire his weapon, it would be blocked by a magical force field.

Nightmare Moon would appear behind Sky and attempt to attack with magic, but would be caught with his hearing and dodged.

After a long battle of dodging and blocking attacks, Sky would eventually pepper spray Nightmare Moon in the eyes and throw a grenade. That would explode next to Nightmare Moon's head, thus ending the battle.

"Oh, I'm so getting that homeless man a house now."

Luna would appear ready to fight only to be surprised by a headless Nightmare Moon.

"How did you do that."

"Training crushes the overconfident."

Ruby picked up the one she had just killed and took a good long sniff to separate the correct smell she could then use to spot others, she was going to ask what about non-changeling spies but then decided against it, she didn't really care. "As you wish." was the only thing she said as she turned to leave, she moved slow enough that if Gladia had something more to say, she could say it, but otherwise she didn't waste time. What came to Quasi, if he appeared to ask anything, she would only tell him that she had a job to do ant that he should stay here, assuming of course he didn't get orders of his own for some reason. She would then head north as instructed.

As this was beyond Ember's abilities, she stayed back from the fight and just observed the situation.
"Turns out technology beats a failed queen, though your highness takes surprisingly well the fact that you're looking at your own alter ego without a head." she commented after everything was over, sounding surprisingly unfazed "Though I guess this wasn't the real one anyway, there was a notable lack of evil laughter."

Waiting North were Equestrians and Dragonlanders with surprisingly decent defense.

A group of dragons waited for Ruby too.

"We await your command, Ruby."

"How did you man-"

"Glass cannon. For example Luna if I shot you in the head, you'd die or not be able to take care of yourself anymore. Even with moving an entire moon. Don't get me wrong magic makes up for that but, Nightmare Moon didn't know what a grenade was. And I was counting on her catching the thing next to her head."

"You guys are terrifying."

"My nation has the most deadly and elite soldiers."

Within view were American Marines playing with a chicken. The chicken chased one of the soldiers while the others laughed at their comrade.

Ruby hadn't expected there to be anyone else, but well, even if she wasn't one to lead anyone, meat-shields could be useful "Spread out as wide as you can and be unpredictable, but don't attack directly yet." "You will draw the defenses' attention to yourselves, and further away from each other you are, more they have to split those defenses to deal with all of you. It's also harder to hit one lone dragon than a group of them, and as long as you avoid predictable moves, you will survive with no problem." it had been a great weakness in the Fironians' way of fighting she had noticed, their troops were always in a big pile instead of spreading out, making them a easy target for anything ranged. "I'll stay hidden for a moment after you have gotten their attention, and will use it in my advantage by going past the defenses while they are busy with you." she could have tried to fool them with her pony form, but since there was Equestrian troops, she figured they would know of her pony form, and she didn't have time or patience to disguise the disguise.  "I'll then attack those defenses, and after that you are free to decide yourself if you can attack or if you should wait for moment longer." "And lastly, I don't know how it is usually done in your ranks, but since I have not been given instructions on that, it will be my way here. That being, if you flee or do something to hinder me, I better not see your face again, because I will kill you, got it?"  she didn't really give any time to answer "Good, now go." she would take no questions or arguments, even showing true her threat if someone got too annoying

Assuming her command would be followed, she would take off straight up staying out of the vision of the fort, and she would fly so high that biggest of the dragons looked like a insects from there, she then closed her wings and started to freefall, this alone would take some moments, meaning that at the point she would be visible the defenses would already have their full attention on the other dragons, not that it really mattered if she was noticed or not, because when she opened her wings again, she would fly towards the fort so low and at such speed that even a modern top-of-the-line fully automatic anti-air system wouldn't have time to lock on to her before it was too late.

She quite literally crashed inside the fort with flames and smoke, and before the dust even had time to settle, she had already started her massacre, she wasn't playing anymore, and thus to add to her physical capabilities, she was also spewing sticky fire that stuck to almost everything and was very hard to extinguish, and even those protected from the flames would feel the increasing heat, because while it wasn't specially hot, it was still fire.

"I have used that trick several times too, many creatures have the urge to catch whatever is going past their head." Ember stated, not nearly as impressed as Arrow seemed to be, she also blatantly ignored Sky's bragging about his nation, as to be expected, the chicken situation didn't exactly help "Sure I don't use grenades exactly, since we don't have that technology, but there's plenty of things with the same effect, in fact, they can do more." "Elemental explosions, pure magic of different kinds, poisons, acids, even some non-lethal ones like bright lights, mind affecting ones, things that make you deaf, unable to move...." she looked at Luna "...And that's not even mentioning the stuff at the black market, you should probably try to crack down on that after this is over, there's some really messed up stuff there, I have been doing my best but I'm only one creature."

Fironian forces went in different directions to do what Ruby said.

The Dragonlanders and Equestrians tried to fight back. When Ruby landed, multiple balistas were fired at Ruby.

"Retreat! Do not kill the red dragon!"

Mira led a retreat from the attack. It's as if they wanted to avoid attacking Ruby. Quasi would be flying nearby to keep an eye on things to make sure the plan was being followed. What he noticed shook him to the core."

"Mira!"

Quasi swooped down and faced Ruby.

 

"You've taken the fort instantly, you don't need to fight now."

"Quasi, it's okay you don't need t-"

"No, don't make this situation worse. You retreat with your forces."

Mira would then leave.

"Watch as you grow aware of the danger that is over you. In the final battle you, it will come to you."

An American soldier would go up to the team with a cigarette.

"You guys have a light?"
 

"You will probably die early from those."

"Why'd you have to bring my mortality into th-"

"Stop, I'm getting something over the comms. The attack isn't over. We need to head down to a facility down south they plan to release mustard gas on the city. Many civilians will die if we don't stop them."

"Terrorists. Why do they always go after civilians?"

Arrow spoke up to them. "I don't get it. Using babies as shields? Killing civilians?"

The ballistas were too slow, and Ruby took them down while they were being reloaded.

She shouted to the nearest of the dragons that had sent to help...or keep an eye on her "Make sure nobody leaves!" before facing Quasi "I don't care about the fort, I came here to kill, I also still need the head of the general." there was no warmth in her words, or anything else really, besides the literal fire and smoke of course "And if you come in my way, I'll rip off the rest of your legs, and Fironians most likely will execute you." "I may not enjoy seeing you die, but you are mistaken to think I'll sabotage my own goals for your sake." she was colder than ever, eyes burning in bloodlust and rage.

She would then go after the retreating forces, either past Quasi, or through him, depending on his actions, and while she wouldn't kill him, she would injure him until he decided not to, or couldn't bother her anymore, and the fight wouldn't be anything like the first time Quasi attacked Ruby, Ruby didn't hold back this time, and would make true of her threat if that was necessary.

"They do it because they know our side feels bad about it, it's psychological warfare, they may also be trying to turn the civilians against their nations." Ember commented "Especially for someone like US or whatever you call it, the war is pointless from point of view of the uninformed civilians, and seeing innocents getting attacked makes the question why are you even involved, this leads to anger which eventually shows up as protests or worse." "And either this is a trap or the Fironians are awful at keeping spies out."

A few dragons and ponies stayed to cover the retreat.

"Do you not find it weird that they didn't want to kill you? They obviously WANTED this fort taken. Clearly a trap to lower the amount of Fironian forces. I was hoping to keep that out of this because you know, I'm opposed to the Fironians. How do you know you won't be punished for not realizing this was a trap? From their perspective, I just saved a bunch of Fironian lives. Wouldn't the destroying the fort be the priority? Or perhaps you want to ask Gladia about how she feels about the trap."

"Changelings. Hard to spot honestly."

"Once you attack U.S. soil, the idea that the war is pointless is out the door. This isn't the first time this happened. History proves that attacking our land ruins any chance of us leaving soon. People are probably flocking to the recruitment offices as we speak. And not only that. NATO is in on this war now. The Fironians are screwed. I mean, sure they already were when the U.S. entered but, now they're REALLY screwed. If humans kept their form in this world, we would've toppled the Fironian government in a matter of 24 hours. We've done it before."

This time Sky wasn't trying to brag. He was simply going based on what his lands military did in the past.

"It's been what, a week? And we're closing in on their capitol. While they are doing attacks on the offensive, they're mainly on the defensive now. Though, once we take out the Fironian leader, the Fironian cause will fall apart. Moral is low for them and Dragonlord Ember will be in charge of Fironian territory, and that was previously dragonland territory. There will be no resistance given how she will probably rule. Good thing too. If the U.S. took control, this would be an insurgency. Those last many years."

A helicopter would land near the group.

"Hey, we're gonna fly you there. You'll be working with Navy Seals on this one given the urgency."

"Oooh the big kids!"

Until Quasi followed Ruby, his words would go unheard, as Ruby would go after the escaping troops, it didn't matter if they were faster than her, she was a hunter, and a good one of that, when she gets a scent from you, it doesn't matter how far you run, she will find you. Those left to cover wouldn't last long in Ruby's way, especially now that she knew they purposely avoided killing her, she wasn't known for being fair after all. 

If Quasi did follow her, the response would be "I was told to kill, and that's what I came to do, I was not told to worry about the fort itself, nor was I told to care about safety of Fironians I wasn't told were coming." "I know they are planning something, and I have no doubt in my mind that you're working to help them, they invaded my mind, so I find it likely you welcomed them into your dreams." "I have said it many times that I don't care about this war, I have no personal stakes in it, I have my own goals, and I don't appreciate you coming in my way." "Besides, I specifically told the troops to stay back while I attack, meaning that even if it was a trap I was expected to care about, the only dragon I risked was myself, assuming my orders were followed." 

She wasn't going to stop until she got what she wanted, she didn't care if Mira got away, she didn't even care about her army, she just wanted to kill enough that she herself was satisfied, soldiers, civilians, she couldn't care less at this point, she was here to send a message, and she would finish her goal even if she had to fly all the way to Equestrian city to do it, even Gladia wouldn't be able to do anything about it, because even if she used magic to forcibly return Ruby back to her, she would find that Ruby wouldn't take any more orders before she got her promised blood, no matter the threats or torture that may be inflicted on her, because while many things could be said about Ruby, one thing was certain as had been shown as early as in the fight with Arrow, she was stubborn enough to cause her own death.

Her target would be whatever happened to be the first place with lot of individuals she knew for sure to be working on the side of ponies, it didn't matter what species they were, it didn't matter if they were military or civilians, only thing that mattered was that there was a lot of them, and that they were allied with ponies.

"I really don't care." Ember said dismissively "I merely expressed what I believe to be the motivation behind Fironia's attacks on civilians as a response to a question." "I did not express my opinion on if I think it's a working strategy or not, and thus don't want a speech about how great your land is." it didn't matter how Sky meant it, it still sounded like bragging.

While they were flying, Sky would get something over the comms, an expression of worry would appear.

"W-what? They're okay, right?"

Then Sky would feel relieved.

"They're healthy?" "Myra. We're gonna retire to Dasonia."

"But that's for when we have a baby. You don't mean I'm...."

Myra was glad that she'd have a pup but, also worried, bringing her home wasn't an option due to the limited resources they'd have to keep an eye on her.

"So, who's gonna stay behind on the raid to protect Myra?"

"Prey always flees, that's the only thing they are good at, running away." Ruby coldly stated "And I find it surprising I need to tell you this again, a fight isn't over until one side is dead." "Also, very bold for you to assume you can stop me."

"Take any head and say it was the general. Will you kill someone important to the one dragon that cares about you? Friends are important in this world, without them, who will help you when you're in trouble?"

He didn't give him that magic of friendship whatever, he didn't expect her to listen to that so making it sound like a tool would be a good start.

"Ponies live each day with good things to look forward to. Both ponies and your kind have to look forward to death, the difference is, you only have death to look forward to. Living just to survive the next day, what good is that? And I sacrificed all the good things to look forward to just to be with you. Why won't you trust me?"

"Myra is having a pup. We had suspicions but, the results came back negative. One of the Dasonian war healers was looking her over and confirmed we're having a pup. We agreed that when we have a pup, they will grow up in Dasonia. I bet they will grow up to be a great warrior or something."

"We need to protect the pup. Arrow, you're a strong warrior and you guard Princess Celestia. I need you to stay with me while the others go. Plus Sky and Ember need to learn to respect each other. They are related to a ruler... well future ruler at the moment but, typically those related to the rulers and sometimes the rulers themselves fight on the frontlines. Never all at the same time of course, then who would be left to lead?"

"No, the question is, why you don't trust me, every time I try to do something, it's you who comes in my way, it's you spewing mantras about friendship, you who chooses a soulless clone over listening what I have to say, you who conspires with those who tossed me away the moment I stopped bowing to them." "You claim to care about me, to want to be with me, yet you do everything in your power to get in my way, to try to prove how I'm wrong every time." "You don't care about me, you care about the ideal of me, the fictional version of me you wish I were." 

"And it's laughable you think this is about the mission anymore, I have failed already thanks to you, and I'll remember it when Gladia decides on the punishment." "No, there's a reason why I requested to get a killing mission, I want blood, and I'll get my blood, I don't care if I have to fly back to Equestria to get it. If you want to protect your dear Mira, you better help me to get my slaughter."

Ember congratulated Myra, but that was about the extend of niceness that came out of her, as what was said quickly changed her mood "Not only is sending individuals you know don't come along to a fight a bad way to try and get them like each other, as it many times may leads to only one returning." "But respect is also not something to be forced, it is something to be earned, and the constant attempt to make it otherwise is exactly the problem, instead of agreeing to disagree, you are trying to get me accept the ways of warmongering world and to happily take any kind of treatment I get from its troops of death and destruction." "I have already agreed to put the differences aside for common goal, why is that not enough for you?"

Ruby didn't understand love, so of course she had little idea what it actually was "If love means to not be allowed to do anything, I'm not interested, I rather die from my own freely made choices than live without freedom." she stated "Only thing love and friendship seem to do is blind everyone from reality and right solutions." "But I bow to no one, no thing, I know what I'm doing, and won't let you or anyone else stop me." she scanned the area under them to see if there was any potential targets besides the ones she was chasing.

Ember rolled her eyes and looked outside, in her eyes trust was quite a lot more important than any kind of respect, even sworn enemies could work together if there was trust between them, while respect...it didn't really mean anything these days, it was used with so many different meanings that it no longer had real meaning. And trust, once lost was hard to gain back, and the unfortunate truth was that she did not trust Sky to have her back, because as much as she was filling to work with him....well, there's a reason why it's said that the first impressions are the most important.

"I'm not going back before I get what I want." She was still looking for any non-fironian settlement, fort, or anything else with lot of non-fironians, at this point an on going battle would be good enough, as long as there was enough for her to be satisfied that her message is clear.

I will be thrown into jail and you will guard it during the night. We will plan from there."
