Luna was now whimpering in Celestia's spirit hold...when Celestia heard Global speak up. She sighed...and let go. Luna's spirit dropped to the floor with a very soft *pomf*. It seemed like that hold nearly drained its energy out. It started to sniffle. If Luna started to cry, she could possibly become angry and let the darkness out, turning her into Nightmare Moon. Global needed to do something, because the fate of what could happen next could be determined by Global's next decision.

Luna was let go of softly. She sat on the snow and was overcome with all sorts of emotions. They were threatening to spill out at any given moment. Global trotted over towards Luna in an attempt to comfort her. She hesitantly reached a hoof out, making sure it was okay to place it on the princess’ shoulder. After a couple of moments, she placed it there and did her best to comfort Luna.

“It’s okay, Luna…I’ve got you…is there anything you would like to talk about?” she whispered gently.

Luna let out a soft sob, and her spirit retorted to wrapping itself around Global, since Global was the closest to her. "Please...take me to my ashes...away from...her..." Luna cried softly with a broken voice. It would be best to find Luna's ashes quickly, then make sure the two sisters could reunite peacefully.

“O-okay, Your Highness…” Global uttered to Luna, slowly leading her away from Celestia.

She was slightly upset that Luna didn’t want to be near her own sister, but she understood that a lot of dark memories were resurfacing. It was best to let the sisters sort out their issues later. Taking Luna’s hoof, she took her around the mountains in no particular direction, seeing if there was any sign of ashes.

Luna's spirit rested itself on top of Global's back. It felt warm. Luna's spirit began to stir a little. It seems like they were getting close. Perhaps it was best to ask Luna if she could sense her own ashes anywhere...since she was an alicorn.

“Your Highness, do you see anything?” Global asked, referring to the ashes.

Although Luna was just a spirit, she was heavy. Global’s new wings helped balance the weight out a bit, but she still felt slightly crushed under the weight. Hopefully they would find the ashes soon before she fell over.

"I-I sense...something...go right..." Luna's spirit stated. If Global turned her head, she would see an ice cave, which is most likely where Luna's ashes were. Luna's spirit was there to provided Global the warmth she needed.

Global turned her head to where Luna indicated and went towards the ice cave. Despite the implication of its temperature, Global didn’t feel cold going in. Carefully, she looked around with her eyes and her head for any sign of the ashes. Hopefully they would contrast enough with the snow to make them obvious.

Luna's spirit started to stir a little more. It seemed like this was a smaller cave, and the ashes could be just ahead, which they were. Luna's spirit zipped away, towards the ashes and reformed. A major crisis was averted, as the reformed Princess was revealed. She silently walked back to Global, ready to go.

Luna quietly nodded. Her expression was that of solemness and worry. Luna began to walk. Outside of a cave, Celestia was laying down sobbing softly, feeling guilty of how she had treated Luna now and through all the years. Luna looked at the crying princess and sighed, letting out a quiet sniffle.

Global looked to Celestia, then to Luna. She hated seeing Celestia so upset, but she realized Luna may still have a grudge against her. Still, perhaps now that Luna was more calm, she could manage to reason with her sister.

“Did you want to say anything to her, Your Highness?” she asked the princess standing next to her.

"Sister...I've already forgiven you...please...you must forgive yourself..." Luna said with another sniffle. Celestia's ears twitched as she continued to sob softly. She looked up slowly at Luna and global with tear stains along her face.

Global saw the heartbreak and the sorrow in Celestia’s tear-filled eyes. She wanted to ease that pain in her, but this is something only her and Luna could solve. She averted her gaze towards Celestia, waiting—and hoping—for her to say something, anything. She couldn’t bear to see the two sisters in such pain.

Luna looked at Global with tears in her eyes. Celestia was actually beckoning Global to come and hug her. The weight of all this that happened was really getting to her, and the guilt from how she treated Luna earlier was still lingering.

Global could sense that Celestia wanted a hug, so she kindly offered her one. She allowed the princess to air out her sorrows for as long as she needed. As she did that, she looked towards Luna with a mix of sorrow and hope. She hated to see Luna suffering as well but she had a feeling that over time, things would get better.

Luna looked at Celestia. She saw just how vulnerable Celestia looked, as she had to deal with this whole thing. Luna looked like she could start sobbing at any moment, which she did, her legs giving out, almost falling on top of Global. By now, it would be night.

Global Gleam grunted as Luna began to put all of her weight on her. She flapped her wings gently to stabilize herself before slowly pulling free from the embrace. She held onto Luna still so she would not fall. When she got the chance to breath, she noticed that nightfall had begun and the stars were coming out. She smiled.

“Look, Your Highnesses! It’s nighttime. Isn’t it beautiful?” she spoke to them, hoping the sky would give them a newfound appreciation for each other.

Luna looked up at the night sky. She was still crying. It just wasn't the same. The beauty wasn't there. Most of Equestria was a complete wasteland and spirits were still roaming. "It...it isn't was it used to be..." Luna said with a broken voice, looking at Global, still sobbing.

Luna looked at Global still sobbing. Celestia cuddled Global close. In all honesty, it didn't help if the sky was illuminated beneath the still mostly barren Equestria. There was still much work to be done. "You...you don't understand j-just how heavy the weight is Global..." Luna said still sobbing quite a bit, hugging Global close.

Global Gleam felt completely helpless, even as she was being cuddled. In truth, she couldn’t do much to fix anything around here, not unless she could locate more ashes. She began to feel distraught, then a little angry, but kept those feelings down for the princess’ sake. When she was able to calm down a bit, she continued to radiate as much love and compassion towards the princesses as she could. She wanted them to be hopeful, but she knew the process may be long.

Eventually, the two Princesses fell asleep from just the overall stress and sorrow. It was night. Perhaps a good night's rest would be best for now. Yes, the next day may still have the same emotion, but all hope was not lost.

  • 2 weeks later...

@ExplosionMare

During the night, Luna began to stir a little. Could it be a bad dream. Celestia was sleeping deeply, so she didn't even move a muscle. Maybe Global should make sure that something wasn't going to happen...
