Envy 6,263 August 31, 2022 Share August 31, 2022 I'm white and was raised in a very safe suburban neighborhood. My parents are still together. There was no abuse, alcoholism, drugs in my childhood. No doubt even though I lack privilege in some other areas, I have been shaped a whole lot by the above. Everything needs more woodwind!

DubWolf 17,513 September 3, 2022 Share September 3, 2022 My biggest privilege is not one I speak of because I am afraid to lose it. It’s probably one of the only things I’ve appreciated life has been merciful to me with up to this point. That and being born here and not in some developing country, though I do wonder if I’d be a lot happier if I was just born in a developing country just south of here. Denim&Venöm 19,667 September 3, 2022 Share September 3, 2022 I don't consider being raised by a loving family in a healthy community without any tragedies to endure to be privileged. That's just the basic standard. And I shudder to think any of those being missing in life is considered 'normal.' What I do consider being privileged is staying with my folks for as long as I have, paying for most of my living expenses and helping me invest what little income I do make into long term investments, so that I don't end up working through bankruptcy and debt like they did.
