Hello, everypony!

I'm Blushibi, Blush, Blushi, whatever you like!  I'm 21 and Fluttershy's biggest fan (not up for debate, hehehe).

I've technically been a member of our lovely Fandom since Janurary 2011 when I was just 9 years old and didn't know what a Fandom even was.

I took a break sometime around 2016 until around 2019, riiiiight after the last episode aired.  I remember being sick for a week that year and spending it by speed running through every episode and movie I missed and crying my eyes out by the last episode.

It dawned on me that MLP FiM had never really left me, and was when I realized how special it was to me and always would be.

Honestly, getting to experience MLP at such a young age and for so many years, being so deeply infatuated with it (thank you, autism!) really had an impact on me.

I believe it has shaped who I am as a person in so many positive ways.  Because I was young, I took each lesson to heart.  Every story resonated with me as the target audience and inspired me creatively.  I believe that MLP has impacted every aspect of my life for the better and I am so grateful.

Especially Fluttershy.  She truly is, and always has been, a role model and inspiration as someone who loves animals and values kindness and compassion more than anything.

Her love for others, for the young, the weak, the elderly and for nature is exactly what I want to be known for.  And I have found that beyond even those key aspects I am so much like her.

Perhaps it's because I grew up with her being a central focus of my childhood when I was most moldable and influencable(?) which made me grow into someone like her.  Perhaps she resonated so deeply with me because I was already like her.

I think there's truth to both.

Either way, during the hiatus I had with MLP, I mistakenly took out my frustration  of losing my childhood friends and other struggles of growing up, believing MLP is cringy and I should be ashamed that I'd ever liked it.

Yet after that period, upon returning back to my love for the franchise, I realized even during its absence in my life I had still grown to be like Fluttershy.  I saw that a lot of our experiences occurred simultaneously even without my knowing.  I found lessons and situations in the show that reflected my life very well.

On and off, I've had these desires to be just like her.  I wanted to embody her, I wanted people to associate us, and I wanted to be essentially Fluttershy as a real person.  I just wanted to be closer to her and feel her comfort in every aspect of my life, as weird and bizarre as that is.

I can't explain it, but I know that has consistently been a desire of mine.

I'm not sure if that's unhealthy, healthy, realistic or weird and awkward.  But it is part of who I am and for now, I don't think it's so bad.

I'm thankful for the impact this series and Fandom has had on me and I hope it always remains a piece of me.

I can't wait to someday have children and let them experience the good aspects of this community and show as I once did. And I'm thankful I found a wonderful boyfriend who understands and supports all these feelings as best he can and enjoys the show along side me and let's me send him silly pictures of the best Pegasus.

I often wish I had a group of friends like the mane six by my side who each felt connected to one pony as I do Flutters.  A group of friends I can share the special bond the girls in the show do, where we can all dress up and channel that magic of friendship as best as possible in this dark, real world, making it just a little bit brighter than it is.  But perhaps that's just wishful thinking.  Either way,

If you've read this, I deeply appreciate it.  I'm just glad to have a forum where I can vent and express these important aspects of my life.

God bless everypony here and have a lovely day, all! /)

Blushibi

Hello Blushibi, Blush, Blushi *Blushes* /)

Welcome to the herd :P

Yea, I can relate, I also remember watching this when I was very young (as a boy though) and left it in 2016 due to deeming cringy, childish and additionally (due to stupid gender norms and my then identity) girly during the stupid cringy cancel culture era of a YouTuber whose name rather be not said and I returned in 2022 after having nostalgic rollercoaster, questioned gender norms (which led me to question my gender a year later as well lol) and found out how much it resonates with me and how positively it influenced me (unlike Caillou, who teached me terrible and manipulative things that I did to parents especially :Angry-zip:) and got back to it and planed to do it as a side thing, oops. And let's say I no longer just want one plush but.... a couple (even though I didn't get a plush yet) and I don't think one Brony convention would be enough and I never went there (previously, I planned to go there at least for curiosity), I sank so much that I'm now pony myself (even identifying as one considering my legs and arms to be hooves) :P

hehe

Can relate. :X

Also, frick gender norms and age norms, just watch what you want to watch! Be yourself!!

I advocate fighting against conformity and for acceptance. (Gender equality/Egalitarianism, Gay Rights, Trans Rights, LGBTQIA+ Rights and Feminism included)

Thank you!

I remember how I found MLP.  I think I had seen commercials or seen the show airing on The Hub in passing and didn't pay attention to it until I got Rainbow Dash in my Happy Meal.  That's how I remember when I joined, since those first MLP McDonalds toys were being given in Jan 2011.

I got home with my scraggly little Dashie toy and started watching the show because I hated having a toy for a series I knew nothing about.  I feel instantly in love, making crude little drawings of each pony as I saw them with my crayons so I could show my best friend since I didn't have a phone or tablet.

I still have all those drawings.  They're hilarious.  Awhile back I had a popular video when I uploaded them on tiktok because of how funny looking they are.  It's a cute reminder of my passion for the show at such a young age.

That evening, I remember going to eat dinner with my family and begging to be taken to Walmart so I could get my first real toys.  I got the first release basic set of Fluttershy and Rarity brushables and it was over for me.

Then on, that's all I asked for for birthdays and Christmas and every day of my childhood was filled with thoughts of them.
