Have ever thought about flocked ponies?

I've been watching MYM and noticed in close-ups how detailed the ponies fur are so I thought how would be a brushable G5 pony but with flocking, like Sylvanian Families. Honestly, that could be a very good release, but very unlike Hasbro, since their toys quality are cheap and bad recently and flocking would mean more money they have to spend, even if that means an even expensive release, I don't know.
What are everypony thoughts? Do you think ponies like this would do good?

I'm pretty sure they've done it with the past generations. My guess is that they discontinued it because for most brushing fans, the mains and tails sticking out of plastic works best. Nothing to catch on or react funny from potential static? And then anyone wanting a soft body can just get a plushy. To the person wanting both aspects, well why make a third option when we can force you to buy both of the existing ones? More likely, I imagine the flocking doesn't hold up to rough play very well, enough so that it discouraged more purchases than it generated for replacement.

I'm mostly basing this off of the toys being designed for the younger audiences, and the terrors I've witnessed in the toy isles of secondhand stores. :lie:

@SharpWit Yeah I understand your point completely, and after I thought about wanting a flocked pony I also thought why not a plush, and it's probably because the texture is way different and flocking would be more similiar to the fur from the 3d.

I've not saw this as an issue because, Sylvanian Families is also targeted to young kids, and they seem to go very well and many collections from people's childhoods had intact sylvanians while I searched for used ones. Not only these but Littlest Pet Shop also had flocked pets, which I got impressed to found ones in good quality online (despite, yeah, saw some monsters too). Also, this can be seen as a marketing strategy. If a flocked pony is damaged by a kid, they're going to be whinning for another one. But I completely understood your point there, maybe I'm the one whinning because I'm dissapointed in Hasbro G5 releases... :worry:

G1 did flocking with the So Soft collection, so it wouldn't be totally out-of-scope! It is an extra production cost, hence why G1 only did it for a limited run, so I don't reaaally see Hasbro jumping on that anytime soon. I agree it would really elevate the G5 toys though, since they have so much more detail in the shows than the older gens had.

Man something like that So Soft collection really would be perfect for G5! So wish Hasbro would put actual effort into the G5 toys and give us more unique stuff like that :(

Ponies such as the so soft collection for G1 are EXCEEDINGLY cute but any heavy play would make them look kinda gross, and kids playing with them in water would ruin them completely so I could only really see the gimmick coming back for collectors' pieces or maybe blind box figures :lie:
