My Little Pony: A Zephyr Heights Mystery Is A MASSIVE Improvement!

I realized I haven’t been promoting my videos on here for a while, sooooooo let’s change that. In this case, here’s my review of the new G5 game My Little Pony: A Zephyr Heights Mystery. It’s been a long wait for this game, but it’s finally here and I really enjoyed myself. I thought I’d set the record straight in case anyone’s still on the fence about buying it, though I still think $40 is ridiculous for both of them. Is this one more worth your time than its predecessor? Well, that’s for y’all to figure out for yourselves given the price, but I personally recommend you do if you have that amount to spend. Overall, it’s a huge improvement over A Maretime Bay Adventure, with a whole lot more stuff to do, unique skill sets, and a better fleshed out story. I haven't actually watched that video yet since I'm still playing through the game myself and didn't wanna get spoiled lol. But I absolutely agree, it was a big jump from Maretime Bay Adventure. My only complaints so far being the following:

The gameplay is still pretty easy, but It's a kids game, and a collectathon at that, so I can't really knock it too hard.

And Zipp not having her original VA, again, like in Maretime Bay Adventure. It's a voice actress by the name of Anna-Maria Maleshev instead. And she does a fine job! It's just really weird hearing Zipp with a different voice after getting used to Maitreyi's Zipp. Also weird how she's the only character who has a different VA, because everypony else is the same. It's been a consistent thing across 2 games now which makes me think it's just something Maitreyi doesn't do, or it isn't in her contract, or she costs too much money, I don't know.

Edit: having finished the story and watched the video, yeah I agree with most of it. Pacing at the start definitely could’ve been better, gets better once you unlock Izzy. It’s definitely an improvement. Would recommend when it’s on sale If you like G5.

I look forward to playing this when it goes on sale, I can't afford to shell out $40 for a game like this, but I'm glad to hear it's an improvement.

I've only played it for about an hour, but it's super fun! All the different gameplay elements come together nicely and I can't wait to unlock more characters to play as. I've also been testing for glitches and boundary breaks, and so far I haven't found any so It is fairly well-made (at least so far)

Gameplay-wise I really can't say anything as I didn't play it, but from what I saw, well I personally wouldn't say "a Massive" improvement, but it has definitely improved, looks more fun and interesting than the first game for sure.

Story-wise I hugely disagree, I think they had a really good start, but learning that the plot was all around Sparky causing trouble again just disappointed me, I'm really tired of seeing that over and over again and it just never makes me enjoy his character, the first game's story is still much better, it was more objective, had interesting characters arcs such as Primrose's, or Sunny telling the earth pones to not be racist, and it had an actual antagonist behind everything, yeah it was Sprout again and it was mostly just a parallel to Make Your Mark's chapter 1, but it was still better. Here nothing much happens, but it's not bad, it was quite fun, had good moments (Izzy's shopping scene still makes me laugh ) and interactions, specially that it brings back Queen Haven, someone we don't see for a while. In the end it felt like a fun filler episode of Make Your Mark, which made me really miss getting new episodes from that series, it's nothing amazing but I can at least see some effort put into it, which is something that current animated G5 is really lacking in my opinion, I want more of this.

Artistically I think it also improved, I personally really couldn't notice a difference in the graphics, but I like them, it's cute, colorful,,it's also nothing amazing, but for a game of this budget I think it's enough, it's accurate to MyM, which just makes it feel more like that show. There are definitely more animations, which is cool, and hey, they ditched Eloise Narrigan's art! They used it in the first game, here they use 3D renders and TyT art instead, I think it looked pretty cool.

In the end, it's nothing incredible but it's a good and fun addition to this generation, I really wish the same effort that Hasbro put into this game, they were putting into TyT.

It’s looks like she doesn’t voice video games, as Maleshev is actually reprising Zipp from Mane Merge mobile game. Maretime Adventures she was voiced instead by… well, listen to her singing
