If this is true the worst news has come and that Tell Your Tale and possibly G5 have been cancelled

Eyuup, lasting only 3 years is tough, especially given how slow the last year has been. May you rest in peace, G5. ;^;

Of course, it's technically possible TYT ends, but G5 doesn't (in terms of video content), but I wouldn't bet on it. We'll see...

We will know what MLP tabletop game content will be coming soon from Renegade Game Studios on October 11: https://renegadegamestudios.com/renegade-con-october-2024

Honestly, I personally doubt that there will be no new MLP animated feature in 2025, all of the remaining TyT content was made a year ago, and the show was apparently cancelled back in February or January 2024 from what I saw? I'm even more convinced about this because since the gap between Generations 1 and 2 (or between 1 and 3, as G2 had no animations), the franchise never had a single year of a complete lack of animated productions anymore, since G3 they are always releasing at least a movie, or a special, or shorts or episodes every year, G4 started right after G3, and after G4 and before G5, there was Pony Life. With them saving for 2024 content of TyT made in 2023, 2024 should be more than enough for them to work on in something for 2025.

I only see 2025 being a dry year for animated productions of the franchise if Hasbro goes completely sleep mode (which wouldn't surprise me) or if they are in such a bad situation that they just can't plan anything for the franchise in 2025 (though, they already planned all that nostalgia stuff etc)

I'm not so certain that we will be getting any new MLP animation in the coming year, beyond fan content. My own point was that we should see new game content from Renegade (both for the deck-building game and the TTRPG), and maybe more comics from IDW.

Speaking of gaming content,

we probably won't be getting a (Just an idea) Bridlewood video game to go with "A Maretime Bay Adventure" and "A Zephyr Heights Mystery"

so the trilogy would be incomplete. :blush:

Wow, I can’t believe this is actually happening… This totally sucks!

G5 deserved so much better than this and it’s so frustrating seeing them just give up on this! This story could have definitely gone places but that’s not gonna happen now…

This is just a huge slap in the face for G5 fans like me and I just… ugh!

Plus spring 2025 is when Hasbro's contract with Discovery Family expires, and the rights to G4 and its characters are once again 100% theirs. It's not unreasonable to assume that they have something noteworthy planned for after that.

On the other hand, it was said that the final "Tell Your Tale" episode will be on October 17, meaning that they've just set up a redemption arc for Allura that they won't be able to properly follow through with. Plus all the other stuff they won't be able to meaningfully address (Skyros, the other intelligent species featured in "Friendship is Magic", etc.). It's hard to have any faith in Hasbro if they can't finish what they start.

Oh, sorry, it's that I really don't care about the game part, so I just talk about the show ^_^ also, weren't the comics cancelled? I remember seeing a post saying that IDW would stop making them, something like that

Yeah that just makes stronger the belief that Hasbro is working in the next project for 2025, that's something I've been saying before the rumors about the cancellation even started, months ago I speculated that TyT likely wasn't in production anymore given how all the episodes that they are releasing were made back in 2023, I believe all the future stories regarding the seaponies, allura, skyros etc were probably already planned a long time ago, Season 1 was finished in 2022, so imagine how much they developed in 2023, they probably already had script for everything, but the audivisual process stopped in the middle, as that leak from March shows us finished visuals for a lot of episodes that you're never going to see (also,, the new recent leaks of storyboards also showing more scrapped episodes), so they very likely have the ending for the stories all written, but then 2024 arrived, and you know what happened, truly a waste

Though, for the amount of episodes we are getting, I believe that the cancellation actually happened in 2023, secretly, that's why that magazine said that the show was going to continue for two more years, because I refuse to believe that in the entirety of 2023 they could only complete 23 episodes, the show is super cheap to be made and Season 1 is the proof that they can make 70 episodes or beyond that in just a single year (and as I said in my post months ago, I highly doubt the two strikes in 2023 affected them that much), the only logical explanation I can think for it is that the show was already secretly cancelled in 2023, or that, or they actually completed more than 23 episodes, but these episodes are going to remain unreleased for some reason, maybe it's a issue with the international release? Like, they only had up to episode 23 available in simuldub before they decided to cancel the show in 2024? We'll never know.

If you think about it, a videogame focused on Bridlewood releasing in 2025 to finish the trilogy would also fall in line with the show being planned to continue in 2025 as said by that magazine in 2023, though as far as I know there's nothing so far about a third G5 console game, and nothing really guarantees that if a 3rd G5 console game was made it would be released in 2025, though I do think it's easy to believe that since the 2nd game isn't that much different from the first one and it's also very short and simple, so it's very likely that they would be able to develop the 3rd one for 2025.

All we know for certain is that the miniseries My Little Pony: The Storm of Zephyr Heights was cut from five issues to three (with issues #2 & 3) being double-sized) and no MLP comics were included in IDW's October 2024 catelog. One of the freelance creators for the comics has posted that new stories are still being produced for both G4 and G5, so if anything's been cancelled then the the creative teams have not been told.
