Pony name help

Hi!!

I’m making a ponysona right now, and I’ve already got a design and cutie mark down, but I’m struggling with a name. My pony’s cutie mark is a (marching) bass drum with 2 bass mallets forming an X in front of it. My pony is male btw too. I’m really lost on what to do for the name, I generally enjoy music, but bass drum is my specific instrument for marching band so I wanted to put it as my cutie mark

It can depend on what race your pony is, and the colors he had. You could always just call him Bass Drum if you wanna keep it simple. My advice would be to flesh out what the OC fully looks like first then choose a name. Some people can build a character around a name, others need to make the character first - if you don't wanna go with Bass Drum as a name.

I know exactly what he looks like I just have yet to properly draw it out and I don’t want to show my poorly done sketches lol

Only thing undecided is idk if he’ll be a Pegasus or an Earth Pony (Leaning towards Earth Pony)

But he has a long mane and tail that are a deep blue, he has lighter blue eyes, he has a medium brown coat, and he wears black rectangle shades and a plaid flannel. Since he is my sona, I have played other percussion instruments, I play whatever I’m given in concert season but my big interest is the (Marching) Bass Drum so thats why I wanted to make it his cutie mark and his name theme. But given that I don’t necessarily want to name him Bass Drum I might have to branch out to other percussive things for a name?

You don't have to call him Bass Drum of course. There are other names you could call him too. One that comes to mind - and is of course only a suggestion - is something like Percussive Harmony. Drums are all percussion instruments as you've said and the name alludes to a wider range of talent than just one specific type of drum.

In the end though, the name ultimately is up to you. Others and myself can make suggestions, but it's your choice. The best I can say is choose a name that feels 'right', if that makes any sense.
