Why Misty Hiding the Prisbeam Lantern in MYM Chapter 2 Made Perfect Sense

A popular contention about MYM Chapter 2 is that Misty was being stupid in burying the Prisbeam Lantern and coming back for it later as opposed to bringing it straight back to Opaline in Hoof Done It?. Having watched the episode three times now, I can confirm this is not true. If you watch the episode closely, you can see that she was actually being smart. 

First of all, she had just woken up Zipp and was worried about making any more noise that would arouse suspicion. Second, here's a big thing that a lot of people missed...Izzy was awake at the time. If you watch the opening scene, you can see that Izzy is not visible in her bed with her explaining later that she had put Señor Butterscotch under the covers and used the lantern that night while going out to the garden. Misty waiting until morning to steal the lantern kept her from being exposed by Izzy being a night owl. Finally, toward the end of Hoof Done It?, Opaline suggests that what Misty had done may not have been a mistake, something that gets confirmed in MYM Chapter 4's Sunny Side Up with Misty realizing that the reason she keeps failing Opaline is because she doesn't want to succeed.

So yeah, this criticism of Misty burying the Prisbeam Lantern being "bad writing" gets the bunk criticism stamp.
