I was thinking of the the other day cause while I was home alone someone came to my door and knocked and knocked and ding dong several times and I just hid till they went away… lol it was already dark outside and I watch too many crime shows… SO the question is do you answer your door when you are home alone or do you hide till they go away? lol  (also wanted to add this isn’t someone you know that is coming or surprise you cause if it was family/friends they would text that they were here)

I understand your concerns completely. I always answer the door, but... last year during Halloween some kids were knocking my door and I completely forgot about Halloween so I had no candies. It's because it's still not very popular here. After I saw sad faces of the first kids whom I opend the door to, I decided to pretend I wasn't home for the rest of the day. I am 100% guilty

Haven't had that for years, but every now and then when I lived with my parents we'd get a few. It's all fun and games to me until they've done it more than 3 times. Then I'd wait, and if I didn't catch them, I'd patrol the cul-de-sac which would put an end to it.

I don’t answer the door unless I’m expecting someone or have invited someone over. If it’s the FedEx guy I’ll make an exception, but I have to see him clearly through the window or peek hole in the door. I don’t like having company over and I don’t tolerate strangers invading my personal space. And no matter what, where I live it’s not safe and not worth the risk.

I'm nervous about that, so I never open unless I can see through the door's little window (what do people call that? lol) that it's someone I know.

I don't appreciate unexpected or uninvited guests. If a friend plans to visit, they can call or text prior. I may be busy and I do not like being distracted. I also have surveillance cameras around my home for my own laziness so that I can simply glance at whoever it might be. If it's important, they'll know how to find me. If it's not -- GET OFF MY LAWN :Cozy:I don't want your free estimates, religious propaganda, promotion or whatever. Leave a note or something, have a nice day." ^_^

You're not alone, though. I was reading somewhere that times have changed SO much and that the digital age has us more weary of opening the door to strangers and more kept to ourselves. I think, by comparison to say, the 50s where neighbors could stop by and say hey and it was exciting to get a knock on the door. Times have just changed and there are so many different factors for why humans have become a tad bit more introverted, I believe.

Peephole, I think it's called? ^_^ you can get them with cameras now, too. So you can peek lazily from afar. XD

Most of the time, yeah. If it's someone I'm not expecting/don't know, I'll usually talk to them from behind the screen door until I know why they're there. If it's in the middle of night, then yeah, I'd probably be a bit more cautious, but during the day I'm usually not too worried.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.
