Fluttershy knows how to assert her boundaries, seeing her discipline her pet bunny Angel with that in Putting Your Hoof Down was a clear display of Fluttershy's growth, when she learned to assert boundaries in a healthy way. Even then, she remains shy and I don't feel like that's her fault, there are definitely signs of social anxiety there. But it is helpful for her to know when to stop letting others take advantage of her. She did this again in Flutter Brutter episode to Zephyr, Zephyr takes advantage of others, and is a disrespectful layabout who expects others to do everything for him in that episode. Some fans may not agree with Fluttershy's approach, but I did, because it sends an important message to others in that if people can contribute to society, they should, as it is not fair to burden others. The moral of the story is there is no I in team.
