When is G6 coming out?

I read in Google that G6 is supposed to come out in April this year. However, I’ve also been reading that G6 was cancelled. Does that mean that G6 isn’t scheduled for this year anymore?

I guess things have changed since I can’t find official sources either. The only proof that MLP might be coming back in 2025 leaked episodes that might suggest a new generation and Hasbro saying that they want to go retro, meaning they might continue g5 but with a bunch of characters for nostalgia.

However, Hasbro did say that MLP would get a large revamp in 2026…….so should I keep my fingers crossed for g6 coming in 2026?

The only thing that I saw that could be G6 was a leaked proof of concept from 2024, that video called "Cutie Mark Camp" (I think that's the name), it was just a concept for a new series as far as I know, it wasn't in production or anything, so we can't even say that it was cancelled since they didn't gave the green light to it, but maybe they started the production for it and we just aren't aware. There was nothing suggesting that they would be making a new series in their new retro strategy for 2025, so at best, there may be something in 2026 ~☆

Well it definitely ain't April this year, we would've heard something official by now. Maybe sometime in 2026 would be my guess. Hasbro's next earnings call is on Thursday and there's also NY Toy Fair coming at the beginning of March, maybe some kind of update is coming soon

After the TYT and MYM snafu as a result of Hasbro's awful business decisions, I seriously don't have much hope for G6 if that ever happens. Unless they can bring back the original writers and actors and provide the same formula G4 had with its success, to me it's best to let sleeping dogs lie. If it comes out in 2026 and ends up failing like with G5, then it's not going to end well with the fandom. A large chunk of fans have already long left the MLP fandom to either start off independent or just moved on with their lives. And given the fact that MLP as a whole has stagnated since around the 2020s, it's safe to say that many folks have left the fandom altogether, and Hasbro's poor communication to their own community really speaks volumes.

Truth to be told, I gave both TYT and MYM a chance, and unfortunately, both weren't impressive and they severely underdelivered. The plotlines weren't going anywhere and the continuity from G4 felt far too out of place, and at times felt painfully rushed. I really hate to see how G6 will turn out, especially given Hasbro's bad business decisions. If any, in my honest opinion, MLP as a whole should be put to rest and move on to newer things.

Honestly, I doubt MLP will be discontinued. G1 and G3 weren't liked by adults and they were exclusively enjoyed by little kids, so Hasbro still continued them. In the end, MLP is designed for children and as long as that audience likes the show (which they most likely will), MLP isn't going anywhere. A lot of people are talking about MLP being discontinued, but I don't think Hasbro will move on from MLP since it's become a large part of many childrens' lives, especially gen alpha and onwards.

After G5's commercial failure along with Hasbro's both lack of proper communication with their fans, along with writers like Jim Miller and Lauren Faust having left (also including famous voice actors that have long left the show), I really don't think it's going to last unless Hasbro can give both MLP and themselves a massive overhaul. Because their bad business decisions will only sink them even further down if they continue to ignore their own fanbase.

Agreed. In my opinion, Hasbro has already made enough bad decisions with the MLP franchise to the point where I strongly believe that our best hope for it recovering would be for Hasbro to sell the franchise to someone who's known for their work on it, like Lauren Faust for example.

I somehow doubt they'll resort to that, but at this point, it's likely to be our only hope.

They need to not just treat it as "a toy selling platform". Putting some investment in creative talent was what made FIM as popular as it was, but G5 had the air of being phoned in pretty much from the start of the TV series, indistinguishable from any other cartoon trifles aimed at girls.

In other words, they need something like their own Greta Gerwig to hype people up again. Doesn't necessarily need to be Lauren Faust, and I don't know if she would be that enthused about returning anyway. But someone with an established reputation for quality,
