I've seen a lot of humanized MLP designs floating around especially on Youtube and Instagram, what are yalls personal thoughts on these designs? Do you prefer ponies/canon over these artworks, or do you enjoy both?

I like fan made, humanized MLP stuff from time to time. I've even drawn a humanized pic of the pony on my profile picture, but do want to redraw it assuming I ever get around to improving on my drawings.

Not sure how much it counts in my case since some of my favourite humanizations still have elements of Equestria Girls (typically clothing and such) in them. I don't really prefer one over the other though, pony and humanized pony fan art both have their place.

What do :coco:you think @RafaStaryStory?

I prefer the official designs, first because they are the most iconic for me, second, they don't try to deviate too much from the Pony designs, they try to be as similar as possible to the original pony versions. But I like fanmade human designs too, but it depends on how these designs are conceptualized, a lot of them like to deviate too much from the original pony designs and that's fine, but I prefer something more simple, more accurate to the ponies, designs that don't try to be too "special", but rather something more "casual", it's hard to understand what I really mean by that, but I think these arts can show a perfect of example of it, I feel that Fluttershy specially constantly has fanmade human designs that follow the pattern I like ~☆ Artist names with links below the images.

It depends. Generally I don't care. Some designs are better than others. There were some weird arguments at some point that I won't go into, but I think some people got more defensive than usual for any criticism in this category, because as persons they made the designs a lot more personal?

At the end of the day, I'm happy to see people making art.

I’ve honestly never been a huge fan of turning cartoon animals/characters (think SpongeBob for a non-pony example) into full humans. I feel like it kinda strips away some of the uniqueness those characters and their designs had. Obviously I have no problem with folks making their own human designs, but it just isn’t my thing.

That's true! I feel like humanized fanart tends to come from people more outside the general fandom.

I personally like the Bishoujo MLP statues, though!

Oooh I really like these designs! I understand what you mean by more causal, it definitely adds to the charm instead of trying to add so much detail that it kind of takes the shine away from the canon designs!

I don't like the human Spongebob designs either XD I asked for opinion on human designs because in FNAF (my, well, "parent" fandom, aka my first one i was into as a child) has a ton of humanization designs, sometimes those artists outnumber canon design ones!!

Outside of like one exception, i am not a fan at all. I think it defeats the point.

That is true :(

I like seeing everyone's unique ideas of what each character would be like as a human, but I wouldn't say I'm an avid fan of human designs. I especially like when people incorporate headcanons or elements of the pony's personalities into the designs (AJ being muscular/tanned from working on her farm, Twi having eyebags from studying late, Rarity always having a sewing kit or makeup bag for fashion emergencies, etc.).

Humanization are fine to look at, as novelties. I'm not gonna be an unpleasant ogre about it. But I feel the same way about humanizing the Ponies generally as I feel about Equestria Girls, why? To me it just defeats the whole point. They're ponies. But that's just me, and I enjoy looking at the artwork.
