DubWolf 19,955 September 6 Share September 6 (edited) Ever thought about exactly which movies are your favorite but never really thought of their exact placement? Here's the place . You can do however many movies as you like. Additionally, these are merely about your favorites, not what movies are best. So yes, you can have a dog-ship movie at the very top assuming you want to say you really really like it . For guidance, perhaps keep just 1 movie per series in your top rankings, but that's up to you! 1. Forrest Gump 2. The Lion King 3. The Dark Knight (these top movies are without a doubt my top 3) 4. Star Wars: A New Hope 5. Bloodsport 6. Top Gun (both!) 7. Finding Nemo 8. The Mask 9. The Emperor's New Groove 10. Wall E 11. Godzilla Minus One 12. The Incredibles Feel free to edit it out or update your list. Doesn't have to be perfectly ranked; just a general idea . It also doesn't Maybe you forget about a movie or you want to increase your rankings! I can't help not adding more movies as I'm making this thread D: Holy bologna; I forgot about Ratatouille ! Uhh... Add between 9 and 10. Edited September 6 by DubWolf 3 Sig by Wolf, Handwriting by SparklingSwirls

Anything after that(Thor Ragnarok, Winter Soldier, Infinity War, Zootopia, Godfather, Napoleon Dynamite, Toy Story 2, Die Hard, Transformers One) is a complete crapshoot Edited September 9 by Megas 3
Iforgotmybrain 7,795 September 7 Share September 7 (edited) 1. End of Evangelion - My holy grail. Admittedly it wouldn't be here without the show giving so much weight and context to the story and characters. The animation is still beautiful however, with what is one of the best animated fight scenes in anime imo. It's the perfect movie, to me. 2. The Dark Knight - My favorite superhero movie. Even without Batman and other D.C characters this would be a fantastic action movie. I really need to watch The Batman (2022) at some point to see how it compares to The Dark Knight. 3. Spirited Away - My favorite of the Ghibli movies and the first one I watched a long time ago on Cartoon Network. I'll always remember just how magical it was seeing this for the time as a kid. And I still get that magical feeling when rewatching it time and time again. 4. Apocalypse Now - My favorite war movie, probably. Coincidence that the main character is from Toledo? Yeah, because I had already fallen in love with this movie before that was revealed towards the end. 5. No Country For Old Men - What's the most you ever lost on a coin toss? Anton Chigurh is an amazing villain and obviously a terrible person but he's so fascinating you just want to keep watching to see what he'll do. Movie is carried a little bit by him but the rest of the characters and rest of the movie isn't bad by any means. 6. Dr. Strangelove - Whenever I watch this movie I'm always shocked at just how well its aged, it was ahead of its time and absolutely doesn't feel like it was written in 1964. The humor still hits hard and sadly is still very relevant to the current world situation. 7. Inglorious Basterds - Is it the most historically accurate WW2 movie? Nope, but it sure as hell is the most enjoyable one to watch in my mind. Characters are fantastic, humor is great, movie is full of memorable scenes, just a really fun movie to watch. 8. Ghost in the Shell (1995) - A T M O S P H E R E. A beautifully animated and atmospheric movie. It is sort of carried by said animation and atmosphere, though the story and characters aren't bad. I do really like Motoko Kusanagi and Batou. 9. Shrek 2 - That's right baby, Shrek 2. The best Shrek. This was my favorite movie growing up and it's still one of my favorites. Despite all the memes about Shrek that have spawned over the years, Shrek 2 is a genuinely great movie and has aged really well. 10. Angel's Egg - This is the most out there movie on this list and so it will get the longest essay defending it. It's also the second movie on this list made by Mamoru Oshii, the second one being Ghost in the Shell. Angel's Egg features what genuinely might be the best art out of any of the animated movies here. But it has almost no dialogue and very little story while featuring only two characters. It's a true one of a kind type movie, there's nothing else like it and it absolutely isn't for everyone. The art of this movie, to me, is so damn good it makes up for its shortcomings in story. Also, big surprise, guess who was the main mind behind the art of this movie? That's right, Yoshitaka Amano, I love that man. Longhaul 9,725 September 7 Share September 7 I picked ten movies that I truly loved, and it's hard to rank them in any particular order, but I'll give it a try: The Dark Knight. Absolutely fantastic movie, I watch it whenever I'm able. Full Metal Jacket. I've read the book this was based on, and I think they did a pretty good job adapting it to the screen (even though I felt the book was better). Scent of a Woman. Al Pacino really shines in this film, I must watch it again. The Breakfast Club. All I can say is, I regret not seeing this when it first came out in theaters. Apollo 13. Historical drama done exceptionally well. I was a bit young to remember the actual event. Crimson Tide. A heck of a ride from start to finish. Down Periscope. It may be low humor, but I still love it. Chicken Run. Good, fun movie. The Replacements. Had some very funny moments. Young Frankenstein. Classic Mel Brooks movie, and a great spoof of the horror genre in general. There's a lot more that I like, but these are my big ten picks. The order can change depending on my mood, so take this ranking with a grain of salt. 3 Signature wanted -- inquire within
Dreambiscuit 12,079 September 27 Share September 27 (edited) This list is in order of favorites as far as I can figure. It may exceed the recommended number of films but I can’t omit any of them. Return of the Jedi (1983). This will represent all the category of Star Wars movies for me, and is my favorite of them all. Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). This will similarly represent the entire Indiana Jones category and is my fave of the bunch, Beauty and the Beast (1991). This is the animated Disney film, not to be confused with any other incarnation. Tangled (2010). The best of all CG style Disney films. Your Name (2016) One of the most compelling and ingenious movies I've ever seen. And the best anime ever. The Incredibles (2004). This is my favorite Pixar and will cover all in that category. Aliens (1986). The best of the Alien franchise (of which I only recognize the first two movies anyway). The Sound of Music (1965). This is the archetype of a perfect movie in every way. North By Northwest (1959). The best Hitchcock movie and one of the greatest of all time in any category. Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977). Spielberg at his best. Jaws (1975). Simply perfect for what it is. Why Worry? (1923) This is my favorite Harold Lloyd movie and represents his entire body of work, which is essentially perfect from end to end. Conan the Barbarian (1982). This is the Arnold Schwarzenegger version of course and refers to the original theatrical version and not the re-cut ‘special editions’ made for dvd releases. DubWolf 19,955 September 28 Author Share September 28 Steven Spielberg. If I look at all the movies he's filmed, I'll probably just expand my list by a lot . Forgot about Jurassic Park... ehh... it's a great movie and I like it quite a bit, but where would I put it? Not sure. Not just about me liking it a lot, but about any connections.... ehh, I guess I'd put it somewhere between 7 and 9. Not above Top Gun. Man I've probably watched Bloodsport soooo many times the past 2 years since I first saw it. It's been so relatable... 1 Sig by Wolf, Handwriting by SparklingSwirls
