My Uncle is actually their trainer right now. But I never really took much interest in flying, myself, either."

"Oh, your Uncle is their trainer? How absolutely fascinating. I'd adore meeting him sometime. My father's name was Razor Wing, if that rings any bells to you. I don't know how much you know of Wonderbolt history. Tell me, Krystal, have you ever met Spitfire?"

 

Lace Wing's curiosity in the other pegasus begins to grow with their common interest.

Paperback focused all of her magic in her horn...she had to release the spell to chance this one though...her horn was overflowing with magic. She let loose and disrupted the magnetism within the area. Hopefully, the weather team would notice an unscheduled storm of this magnitude and investigate.

 

She quickly resumed the air chamber spell. This time, she's struggling to hold it.

 

I give it about 30 minutes, she thought to herself.

"Well Razor Wing does kinda sound familiar... but no I haven't met Spitfire. I really haven't seen a race in a while except for today. I've just been exploring equestria on my own for the past few years." she said with a sigh.

Paperback heard the labored breathing of Marin next to her.

 

"I wonder if I could get some kind of detention or something for this..." she thought.

 

The storm was really hitting hard now, and was even starting to rain into the chamber. If it rained enough, maybe she could swim to the top...

"On your own? How terribly lonely," Lace Wing comforts, but her next sentence is interrupted by a clash of thunder that makes her jump.

 

"A storm," she says with genuine surprise. "There were no storms scheduled today. How absolutely dreadful. What nit-witted pony is doing this?"

 

Without warning, she leaves the table and very quickly, the restaurant. She is going to find the pegasus responsible and tell them what she thinks of their impromptu storm.

Krystal gets up too "Well that storm came out of nowhere. There's no way the weather team could have made it that fast. Something's not right..."

Oooh, maybe this wasn't such a good idea, Paperback thought to herself, as the deadweight named Marin she had to keep afloat in the ever rising water levels, stress and fatigue were beginning to overtake her simple and small frame.

[Lace Wing 8]

Lace Wing takes flight, approaching the storm's concentrated point. Once there, she nose scrunches in distaste. There are no other pegasi to be seen. Did they create the storm and run? Landing on the ground, it didn't take her long to notice the towering ruins.

 

"Fascinating...What is this place," she mumbles, trotting to the ruin over which the storm is centered. "Is this the cause?"

 

Poking her head into the decaying building of stone, she treads lightly across the threshold.

 

"Hello? Is anypony in here," she calls out, her eye catching some water draining into a large hole in the stone floor.

Krystal, who followed her, notices a hole in the ground. She looks down and sees two ponies drowning! "Hold on I'll get you out!" She flies down and grabs the unconsious one and flies the him up. He's heavier than she's used to carrying and gets a cramp in her wing as she reaches the surface and puts the earth pony down.

Splinter bobbed his head out of the water. ''Hello!'' Said Splinter as looking over to Lace Wing. ''This Sucks...'' Said Splinter as rolling his eyes. ''Can you help out?'' Said Splinter as cocking an eyebrow. ''And don't worry... I've got the two unicorns...'' Said Splinter as grabbing both of the Unicorns by the horns.

Paper's head snapped up, unbelieving her ears. Was this real? Well, why not...

 

"HEY! WE'RE DOWN HERE! A unicorn and an earth pony! Be careful, the floor isn't solid! There's poison gas down here as well. I can't hold this air chamber much longer though, so can you hurry?

 

Splinter bobbed his head out of the water. ''Hello!'' Said Splinter as looking over to Lace Wing. ''This Sucks...'' Said Splinter as rolling his eyes. ''Can you help out?'' Said Splinter as cocking an eyebrow. ''And don't worry... I've got the two unicorns...'' Said Splinter as grabbing both of the Unicorns by the horns.

"Uhm...Marin's an earth pony. Now, if you don't mind, can you please tell me how you aren't dead or wheezing from the poison gas? And just what are you? I can't see in this dark, and I can't use an illumination spell without breaking my other spells.

Following Krystal's lead, Lace Wing dives deftly into the hole and quickly finds herself at the troubled ponies' side.

"I can only carry one of you, dear. Let me take your unconscious friend," the pegasus instructs calmly, positioning herself to take the weight of the knocked out earth pony.

Carefully, Lace Wing balances the weight of the earth pony on her back and flies out of the hole. Once she's far enough away from the crumbling stones beneath her hoofs, she gently deposits the unconscious pony to the floor and starts to cough. Too much gas down there. She takes a quick moment to catch her breath before she takes one last dive.

 

"I'm back for you, darling," she says through gritted teeth, trying to ignore the sting of poison. She motions for the unicorn to be quick about getting on her back.

Krystal, frustrated by the delays to save a pony's life dives into the hole despite her injured wing. She grabs the remaining unicorn and helps Lance Wing carry her up.

"Thank you for saving our lives back there...Krystal? And..."

"And Lace Wing. As you can tell, that's not a normal storm. I conjured it for the purposes of trying to get somepony's attention. By the way, you haven't seen a pony name Vortex, have you? I think we need to have a word with him.

Splinter flew out of the water calmly. ''Sorry I couldn't help! There was something in my ear.. Then when I got that out it got in my eye somehow.. Then when I got it out of my eye my hooves were red...'' Said Splinter as continuing to talk.

"Well, you achieved in getting our attention, darling," the pegasus says, coughing a bit more. After clearing her throat, she huffs softly.

"I was about to be particularly angry with some misguided pegasi, but I'm glad I investigated. And I've never heard of such a pony. What an unbecoming name. Vortex."

Marin groaned...it seemed as though he were coming to.

 

"On second thought, how about we leave?," said Paper, shaking her head to Marin's shifting body, before bucking it in the face.
