gaming Will the Steam versions of Fallout 1 and 2 work on Windows 7?

I was thinking if I were to fail at getting the Derpy toy that I'd buy these two games instead.

However running a free version of Fallout gave me many issues such as the intro and Overseer briefing being missing, the music missing and a black screen popping up occasionally.

Does the version that is being sold on Steam have the same issues or is it fully compatible with Windows 7?

I'd greatly appreciate an answer.

I am sure it will work with steam. If it doesn't, make sure to run with compatibility of Windows XP SP1 or SP2, that might do it.

I'm pretty sure Steam improved the games over a pirated copy.

Not necessarily. They didn't even apply any of the patches available to the steam version. FO2 has a lot of bugs that make it unplayable unless you patch. And actually, Killaps Unofficial Patch fixes a lot more than the official one.

Also, Steams version of KoTOR doesn't work on windows 7. Niether does their supposed fix :P

Funny, the KoTOR discs I bought years ago installed just fine, and the game worked perfectly. I didn't even have to switch it to compatibility mode or change core affinity or anything.
