Finesthour 7,287 July 12, 2012 Share July 12, 2012 (edited) We all know that every artist wants some sort of positive feedback, and negative is welcomed most of the time. But sometimes, just saying that their work is good isn't really enough for an artist to really feel appreciated. Sometimes what an artist/writer needs is a simple hug, pat on the back, or in the forums case, a brohoof. When an artist puts up his work and people just talk about it, he/she could feel under appreciated, and that their work really isn't worth anything. Well, this is far from the case. If you really enjoy their work, let them know! As a writer on these forums, a brohoof to my work always makes me feel like my work is actually appreciated than someone simply saying it is. And brohoofing someones work that you like could help further the artist/writer to create more works for people to enjoy, and that writer could end up flourishing in what they love to do! I went through many of the threads in the pony and non pony section, and could see that many, many pictures/writing works had close to no brohoofs, but people saying that it was simply "good." I for one would not feel very appreciated if someone left something so vague on my works, and I don't. Now, I'm not saying that you need to go up and brohoof every single thread just because it would make the OP feel good. I am saying that if you truly enjoy the persons work, give them a simple brohoof to them to show that the time they spent on their drawing/writing was worth it, and that it brought enjoyment to the person! Now, I did not make this thread for myself. I know many artists/writers on this forum who are sad just about no one brohoofs heir works, and it makes them want to stop writing/drawing. I want to give a headsup to the ponies on the forum who often go to Octavias hall that brohoofing someones work could really brighten their day. Thank you, and have a wonderful time posting ponies! MVC NVMXD JVRXD 2,406 July 12, 2012 Share July 12, 2012 There ya go, OP. Brohoof. Hope ya feel better! But I couldn't agree more. When I was more active in making art (and actually posting stuff), the thread would be filled with "Good job!" and "Nice work. ". But there'd only be 1 or 2 people who actually gave a brohoof. Now to me, that could be very demoralizing. Brohoofs are on the forum as a way to tell someone they have a nice post. When art gets little to no brohoofs, it can feel like no one likes your work. I agree, 100%. 1 I HAD TO FALL TO LOSE IT ALL BUT IN THE END IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER /WRISTS On 4/28/2013 at 8:13 PM, gooM said: Djenty...man you are crazy, but an awesome sort of crazy

Haven't posted art in a long time, save the lobstaar phenomenon or the Pinkie. But those got massive brohoofs.

Juggler 345 July 12, 2012 Share July 12, 2012 I agree that it is a great feeling to get a brohoof. I haven't uploaded any art work though, so I can't say anything about that. But I have gotten brohoofs on some of the posts that I have made on the forum. A very happy feeling to see that message in the annotations to say the least But for me I appreciate more a written feedback. Because a brohoof can be given really quickly, you don't even have to think so much about it. A written feedback really shows that you like it (or in some cases don't). But I can understand that a short "Nice" or something don't say that much. But if you write a bit more, possibly explaining what you think makes the art so great or discussing what the artist could do better. That tells more than a brohoof I think. But sure I agree, if you take the time to write something you have the time to brohoof it as well Signature made by Midnightive

Isobel 279 July 12, 2012 Share July 12, 2012 I like brohoof's and comments I remember I posted something a few weeks ago, and it got a lot of brohoof's but hardly any comments. Sometimes I like a comment (And I mean a good length one, not just 'It's good!' or something), because it makes me feel that they took the time to write one, but a brohoof makes me happy too
