It was very very late at night. Valiant was drunkenly walking the streets of the city. He had a bottle of hard liquor in his hand and in his other he had a gun. He walked into back alley where he couldn't be seen. POP! Then a shadowy figure disappeared among the rooftops....from that night on they never saw Valiant again...

 

Valiant, did your character just die? Are you out of the RP altogether, or just on a temporary basis? I know we've argued a bit, but you show major skill overall, and I'd be interested in keeping you in the RP longer, if at all possible.

 

Awesome, I'll be on tomorrow for sure, most likely around 330 pm pacific time, or maybe a little later, its just been a weird few days that has kept me from actively participating in the forums.

Oh, don't worry. It's mostly going to be build-up before Sunburn kills hundreds of ponies single-hoofedly to bust Nightfall out. We'll have plenty of time. Plus, rescuing Nightfall isn't going to be Wits' ultimate end. The end of the war, with the destruction of both nations, is.

 

Also, you guys are getting kind of narmy. It's like a bad porn, but without the... benefits. Make it a little bit less melodramatic.

Sunburn is my excuse to take a single pony, give him the firepower to balance a severely underpowered side, and make a badflank while I'm at it. We can talk about OP, but the fact of the matter is that people like OP, they just tend to dislike it when it's not in their favor. A hero is supposed to be extremely powerful, as is the villain until the time is right. Notice that while, yes, Sunburn was extremely powerful in the last RP, even he couldn't prevent the prisoners from escaping, nor was he capable of defeating Nightfall, eventually. I've merely taken an earth pony and put him to the logical end of power. He had weaknesses that could have been exploited, and he wasn't unstoppable, but in the end he was still extremely good at what he did. He was OP without me God-modding.

 

And of course you'll get more Wits. You'll just get him with a dose of sheer, undiluted awesome added in for effect.

Well, I'm already using the FiM equivalent of a nuke or two... but your side already has a WMD, if Luna would get involved. Remember that Celestia was involved in a battle for about two or three minutes, and she turned a bloodbath into a Pyrrhic victory to no end. That's another good example: if I had used Celestia to her full potential, the SE would have trounced the NLR all the way back to the Ponygon before Luna decided to get involved. I'm just using the tools I have to make a competitive balance very carefully.

When you say dangerous does that mean Atum gets to die fighting, killing as many NLR soldiers as possible?? That would be quite amazing. Although he wouldn't want to die, but if it is so, then can he go in spectacular style? (*his goal is not to die, he just wants to be remembered as his life has been so meaningless up to this point)

Let me put it this way: Sunburn is deadly. So very deadly, he was court-martialed for killing one of his own men. Celestia was warning him of the dire consequences should he kill Atum. Well, right now, they're going to get prepared for the mission, and then go.

Thats fine he can try, atum is one of those quiet sadistic types, he is paranoid of everyone and already thinks they are an enemy, so he is always armed, if sunburn attacks can i slit his throat or does he have to live also? he has never had to act on his impulses, unless pushed.

That's pretty funny. You don't quite know how powerful Sunburn is. I think that if the two fought, Sunburn would get him down to a standstill. He has taken down Nightfall, and could probably take out Vinyl Blade if necessary. He's a character I introduced to balance impossible odds.

Not a major goal, but he could always snag that catch on the way there, if it becomes convenient. You know him.

he might be able too, but atum went into this battle knowing he was going to die, not caring if his life was lost, meaning he has nothing to lose. when leaving his home, he was never coming back...
